Subject: [2000] - Necron - Decurion heavy on the FA

I have an upcoming tournament, the only rule is army has to be bound, other than that anything is allowed. This will also be the first tournament where my FLGS will be allowing FW models. The idea is to bring a decurion, that focuses primarily on the formations that are mostly FA battlefield roles, so Destroyer Cult and Canoptek Harvest. So a mobile force, I will not be using any FW models, we will need the books and the models, and do not want to drop money on FW models for Necrons.
Decurion
Reanimation Legion
CCB
-phase shifter, phylactery, warscythe, gantlet of fire
Immortals
-nightscythe
Warriors x2
-ghost ark x2
Tomb Blades x3
- nebuloscope
Destroyer Cult
D. Lord
-Nightmare shroud, warscythe, phase shifter, phylactery
Destroyers x4
-heavy destroyer
Destroyers x3
-heavy destoyer
Destroyers x3
-Heavy destoyer
Heavy destroyers x3
Canoptek Harvest
Wraiths x3
-Whip Coils x3
Scarabs x3
Spyder
The idea is have the spyder supplement the canoptek harvest with the adaptive ability and building scarabs. The destroyers try and cause pain where they can and tomb blades, try and kill things with bad armor saves with ignore cover and warriors and CCB hold objectives or fill in where needed.
Immortals will try and hold objectives in opponents area or kill something weak and nightscythe will kill fliers, or try to.
Biggest fear are super heavies such as stompa and knight or FMCs such like Flyrant spam which I know I will have to face.

I would drop the heavy destroyers that are stuck in the groups of destroyers as they have 2 different ideal targets(one is a marine killer, on is a tank/monsterous creature killer) and put those 150 points somewhere else.
Maybe swap the ghost archs for night sythes as you are afraid of flyrant spam and beef up the canopteck harvest with more wraiths.
If you want to get extreme I happen to think the Necron super heavies are kinda cool. Obolisk has at least 15 s7 telsa shots and has some serious anti air. But very vunerable to flyrant spam, could start it un deployed for the 3++ until they fly on then give them the business.

Since bringing the destroyer cult if drop heavies will only get 30 pts, because each unit needs to be 3. Do not bring lots of NS because they always manage to get mowed down by flyrants and I have played NS spam vs. flyrants and never managed to kill 1, out of 15+ games.

I would drop the Harvest, I don't really see what it adds. Destroyers and Heavy Destroyers do a job on Super heavies really well in a cult all those rerolls on gauss is brutal. Tomb blades are great alrounders able to deal with anything including FMCs due to S5 twin linked ignoring cover fire.
I would also cut some fat from the Dlord he has no combat unit to join so I'd keep him naked. Put those points into more tomb blades and Destroyers. Also get Shieldvanes on your tomb blades always. There is a fair amount of Ap4 ignores cover and significantly less Ap2/3. Also a 2 point upgrade to make a 20 point model 33% more survivable is an auto include even ignoring the above.

The canoptek harvest is there for the dedicated assault units. Where rest of army is shooting. I would take more tomb blades, is issue is I only have 3 and cannot get more because of weather delay, new things will not be in until after tournie. Also do not have enough destroyers to make another destroyer cult.

Well that makes sense if you're limited by models. My advice stands for the future.

This is a common misconception but their firepower overlaps much more then one might think. Gauss with re-roll to pen and S5 AP3 with reroll wound allows the normal Ds to contribute a healthy amount to both tank and MC hunting endeavors, and you'll hardly be wasting the Heavy D shots pointing them at MEq.

What would you recommend dropping off of my d. lord. At the current list I have I still have 20 points left that really only leaves me with adding another scarab base.
