I am building a Battle Wagon.  Problem is where do the Big Shootas count as firing from?  I am Taking an old beat up land raider and converting it.  I am putting 2 Big Shootas on each side.  But this is only because of logistics.  I would like them to count as shooting from the top as I have seen from pics of Battle Wagons from the Ork Codex.  This way line of sight is not blocked the way it sometimes blocks side sponsons.  It is not a VDR vehicle, its codex so is there a ruling on this?

I dont know how old this thread is but you do know that you can swap one big shoota out for a big gun? Im building one at the moment and Im planning on mounting a kannon ontop of it. I have my big shoota mounted like on a trukk the passenger in the driving compartment is holding it. Im also adding a flamer onto the front middle of the wagon to allow it to shoot to the left or right whem moving into a crowd. For the base vehicle Im take'n a war model from Zylas (local mitch match store) and moding it up as a battle wagon. Ill get pics when I get abit farther into this project.
