Title says it all really, do Spore Mines give up First Blood?

First Blood states that 'the first unit of any kind to be destroyed during the game is worth 1 VP to the opposing player at the end of the game'(BRB, pg 133)

Spore Mine Living Bomb:

'...are non-scoring, non-denial units. They do not award victory points when destroyed...'

It seems to me that in Purge the Alien type games, they don't give up VP when destroyed. But since FB is awarded at the end of the game and Spore Mines don't award VP when destroyed (can't get FB at this point), FB can be awarded for destroying a unit of Spore Mines.

Is this correct?

Speaking of which, let's assume that Spore Mines dont give up first blood. If they were destroyed first and then you destroy another unit, would you not be given First Blood since that technically is the second unit destroyed?

They don't give up VP when killed, so they count as no kill enemies. Death Company had a similar issue in 7th, where they were always no scoring, even though in 7th everything scores now.

That, I'm not sure. Don't have my book on me, but I don't think they have to be a scoring unit to get Linebreaker. It would make sense, but I don't know 100%.

Linebreaker requires a Scoring Unit.
So no they can't claim Linebreaker.

First Blood
The first unit, of any kind, to be completely destroyed during the game is worth 1 Victory Point to the opposing player at the end of the game.

So, technically, you still get first blood but don't get +1 VP for it.

Technically you dont get squat.

Spore mines specifically say you dont get victory points for destroying them.

Reread the original post. Spore mines specifically say they "do not award victory points when destroyed" (emphasis added). You therefore don't get any victory point when you destroy them. However, First Blood isn't awarded when you destroy something - it's awarded later, at the end of the game. That's what the OP is talking about.

EDIT: Of course, RAW =/= how people actually play things, and for good reason.

So your telling me that the victory point you got for destroying the unit of spore mines at the first turn of the game isnt a victory point earned for destroying the spore mines just because you get it after the game is over?

No, I wasn't saying that. I was arguing that the First Blood victory point you got for your first-turn destruction of the spores mines certainly is a victory point earned for destroying the spore mines. However, the First Blood victory point isn't being awarded at the moment of destruction, and are therefore unaffected by the fact that spore minds don't award victory points at the moment of destruction.
That's RAW. Not RAI, and certainly not HIWPI.

However, I've changed my mind. The above assumed that "destroyed" was being used as a verb, and so was referring to the moment of destruction. I think it's more reasonable to view "destroyed" as an adjective.
The unit has been destroyed by the end of the game. Its status on turns 3, 4, 5, 6, etc, and during the end of the game (when we award first blood), is "destroyed". We don't award victory points for the spore mine unit while it is listed as "destroyed". Therefore, spore mines don't award First Blood.
