I know most regiments are exterminated and other chapters mind-wiped, but wasn't sure if the Custodes were privy to the knowledge of the Grey Knights.

Highly likely they do - but they (according to current fluff) seldom leave the Palace so contact would be rare I should think.

I doubt the Inquisition / Grey Knights would be able to implement such a thing on the Custodes either.

The mind-wipe thing is inconsistent in the fluff anyways. We have the Ultramarines novel where Uriel encounters the Grey Knights, knows exactly who they are as soon as he sees them, and instead of being mind-wiped when he leaves they actually give him one of their bolters as a gift.

The Custodes are hinted to be (at least in part) the original ones - so some of them would have been around, in the throne room, when Malcador presented the original Eight to the Emperor and started issuing orders about moving things to Titan.

In the current GK codex. It says nothing of mind wipe. It states that the knowledge of the GK is like legend because few have lived to witness seeing them alive. GK usually only fight the great enemy and the great enemy usually taints and corrupts everything around but the GK, including other chapters and IG forces(GK are immune to the tainting of the warp) - then it goes on to say that the GK will usually kill even space marines suspected of being corrupted by the warp.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Space Marines don't get mindwiped, wherever did you get that idea? Such a thing would be considered a great affront to the Chapter in question and would likely lead to full-blown civil war.

Look up the Months of Shame. The Space Wolves get into a several month-long battle with the GK and Inquisition over their mind-wipe policy and in the end, trust the Space Wolves with their secret and agree not to mind wipe them.

I coulda sworn that that was over the War for Armageddon when they were trying to mindwipe the Imperial Guard

They were killing the IG and, per policy, were going to mind wipe the chapter. In the end, they actually gathered the chapter and outed the entire GK organization so that this kind of thing would never happen again.

The Months of Shame came after the War for Armageddon. The Space Wolves objected to the idea of all the Guard being executed.

No problem.

Since the Inquisition has no authority over the Custodes and they actively fight a battle behind the Golden Throne against the hordes of chaos 24/7, I would think that they collaborate with the GK to some minor extent without any fear of an attempted mindwipe or other Ordos dickery.

I think chapter masters are exempt?
Why they know to call grey knights when needed?

Unless they have a "book" to say, sealed orders in case of certain scenarios, emergency comma codes which are a encrypted order to summon tgem . only used when it arises, and kept locked up etc until required.

Ie like a code phrase or sorts.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

The Custodes guard the Emperor and were all alive during the Great Crusade. They're not in danger of doing anything bad with the knowledge. They probably know things the GKs don't.

And the GKs were founded by the Emperor in the Throne Room. There were certainly Custodes present.

And not all marines are mind-wiped. Mind-wiping is used in extreme cases, terrible oaths to the marine's primarch are probably preferred(and explicitly mentioned)

Most chapters know of the GKs existence in rumor and whisper. Chapter Masters and Chief Librarians likely know they exist officially.
