Last October I launched the Open Combat skirmish game digitally, you can see some info on the old thread here since then the game has been very well received.

I've had a lot of people asking me to put the rules into print so after a lot of deliberation (and number crunching) I've launched a Kickstarter to try to do just that.

At the time of writing it's already more than 25% funded in less than 24 hours so if you fancy playing a skirmish game (fantasy or historical) where you can use any minis you like and stat them up how you think the should be statted up, please take a look and join us with Open Combat on Kickstarter.

A quick update - the printed edition of the rules is now 82% of the way to it's funding goal in just 4 days.

You can get the digital edition from the second thunder website now or hop over to the kickstarter page to see what it's all about.

In Open Combat you can use any miniatures that you like and you stat them up any way you choose.

We're closing in on the first stretch goal which makes the book hardback - the retail value increases to at least £25 at that point but pledge levels will stay the same so you're getting more bang for your pledge.

I'm in for this one as well, Excited to get to put together forces of miniatures that I enjoy rather than follow strict rules for a change!

I don't back many kickstarters, but I'm most definitely IN for this! I like how this project has a nice, tight focus to it, and doesn't sprawl into too many extra things. More kickstarters should be like this one!

We've funded special custom dice now, plus extra scenario content so it's looking very cool indeed.

I appreciate the kind words about a tightly focused campaign Cannor - I can see the attraction of trying to put everything into a campaign (it's easy to get caught up in the excitement even as the creator) but from a number-crunching perspective I've been very cautious and kept it targeted.
