so I've started X-wing recently, got a few ships and I've made a list to try and get an army which is quite hard to get a bead on, with rebels.

the list I've made (100 points)

Keyan Farlander B-wing, proton torpedoes, Jan Ors, B-wing/E2, push the limit. - every turn push the limit to get more actions in, then use the stress to make focuses hits on the attack.

Kyle Kataran HWK-290, Moldy Crow, Recon Specialist, Blaster Turret - puts focusses on the A wing;

Jake Farrell A-wing, proton rockets, push the limit.

by combining jake farrell with push the limit, Kyle Kataran and Jan Ors, the A wing can focus to gain a focus token and boost/barrel roll, push the limit to focus again and gain an evade token and boost/barrel roll, then at the start of the combat phase get assigned a focus token by kyle kataran and boost/barel roll again, and change that focus to an evade. as long as jake keeps doing green moves, it'll work well I think.

can I get some feedback, I've only ever nearly won at X-wing!

You can not perform the same action more than once per turn, so you can't focus twice even if you're actually gaining an evade token instead of a focus token. You can though, be assigned a second focus token by Kyle Katarn and I believe due to the wording of Jan Ors, you can actually change that to an evade.

Proton Torpedoes (as well as most Torpedoes and most missiles) can be an iffy prospect. Usually they're hardly worth the 1-2 extra dice you throw and their ability for their fairly high points costs. Really only build them into your list if your list is built around them/uses them to further your strategy (flechette torps for stress lists, ion torps for ion lists)
Use the points for other upgrades.

If you've got the hang of stresses, maneuvers and actions, then this list does well with ignoring/altering their rules and purposes and is a good start. It won't blow Whisper and her buddy Chirpy out of the sky but it should be fun to fly and give some other casual lists fits.

I myself am a fan of three ship lists but others will tell you to bring more cheap, efficient, mook pilot ships for target saturation and more firepower. It can be good advice. If you don't just throw those points away.

give it a try though and tell us how it goes!

switched the list up a bit, changed the blaster turret to an ion turret, dropped the "push the limit" from the A wing as it was a bit pointless. new list is:

Jake Farrell, deadeye, concussion missiles.

Kyle Katarn, moldy crow, recon specialist, ion cannon turret.

Keyan Farlander, Proton torpedoes, Jan Ors, B-wing/E2, push the limit.

same principles as before but using the rules more efficiently.

have also made a scum list for monday, 100 points again:

N'drus Suhlak, Marksmanship, hot-shot blaster. goes off on his won and does his own thing for extra attack dice.

Kavil, push the limit, ion cannon turret, unhinged astromech, proton torpedoes - the astromech makes a lot of my manouveres green, so I can push the limit and lose the stress every turn.

Palob Godalhi, Blaster Turret, Outlaw Tech - aim is to zip past, get a stress for it, get a focus for the stress, then blast them backwards with the turret.

Binayre Pirate, autoblaster turret. aim is to get in the way a lot and cause collisions with the enemy.

Marksmanship is bad. It's an expensive upgrade that replaces your focus action with an offense-only "focus" that can't be used on defense. It would be mediocre if it was free, but for 3 points and your EPT slot it's one of the worst upgrades in the game. What you actually want is lone wolf, which is pretty much mandatory on N'dru because it's a powerful bonus that should always work since you're keeping him away from your other ships to get his attack bonus.

Kavil, push the limit, ion cannon turret, unhinged astromech, proton torpedoes - the astromech makes a lot of my manouveres green, so I can push the limit and lose the stress every turn.

Tops are a waste here. You're not going to have a target in arc very often, so you won't be able to shoot. Take an engine upgrade instead, which helps with your primary goal of flying past people and shooting them in the back with the turret.

Binayre Pirate, autoblaster turret. aim is to get in the way a lot and cause collisions with the enemy.

And this is not legal. Z-95s can not take turrets.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
