When deepstriking, the BRB says that each circle must be completed before starting a new circle. If I finish the first circle around the initial model, and have two models left, can I place one at the north end of the circle and the other at the south end? I've never heard of anyone complaining about that until today, when an opponent told me that I have to place models touching not only a model from the inner circle, but touching another model from the current circle as well. It didn't really matter to me at the time, so after showing him the BRB sentence and him still arguing it, I said whatever and put them together, but I'm pretty sure he was wrong.

Yes, you can place the models in different places around the circle. There is no requirement for them to touch each other sequentially.

Yeah, the idea of having to build circles sequentially crops up g fairly often, but so far as i can remember has never actually been a requirement. People just assume that to be the 'correct' way to build the circle.

I mean, I suppose you could argue that the circle requirement would require you to come as close to a circle as you could, i.e. a contiguous arc, but I don't think most players would consider it that big a deal. As far as RAI goes, I think the main reason for the circle thing was so that by choosing to shoot instead of run, you're putting yourself at risk of being hit by blast weapons, which isn't going to be affected by where you put the outermost models.

From memory fourth has this requirement, but it's more than a little ghaz so I'm likely wrong....
