Its been about 11 years since I have played 40k, so I would consider myself a noob again. Just finished 1000 pts of eldar. Any players in the area?

There are several stores in the Raleigh area. Dakka's Storefinder will help you find the closest to you.

There are a large number of 40k players.

What kind of a store/gaming experience are you looking for?

Have you played any of the most recent edition?

If not, I'm going to suggest you at least go in to the Games Workshop store at Pinecrest Pointe and have a talk with the manager. If he's not having a crazy busy day and you have some of your models with you he will likely be more than happy to run you through a small learning game.

I would also suggest you "Like" the Games Workshop: Pinecrest Pointe store on Facebook and mention that you are looking for a 40k game on there.

If you're at GW Pinecrest Pointe I'll play a game with you if I'm available this Saturday.

I'll send you a message. I'm from the area. Personally, I believe there are much better stores than the GW one in the Raleigh area.
