This is an old list I use to play and want to know if it is any good in the current meta. This was before having cultist as troops.

I would spend the remaining 84 pts on power weapon on Lord, and melta guns on marines and melta bombs on champs.





I was thinking of abusing multiple CAD.

last 126pts spent on beefing up HQ or buying melta or plasma guns on more marines.
Like 6 melta guns for each marine squads. -60pts
And 3 Power Weapons on the Lords.-45pts
And some melta bombs on the marine champs. 4 mb for 20pts.

Is 9 oblitz even intimidating at 1500? I really dont think so anymore.

I think the first list would be quite good at the 1000pt level mainly because you will catch people out, 9 oblits is not expected at that level. However you will struggle with speed and objectives.

The second list gets you a few extra CSMs to allow you 1 man obliterator units and (even with melta) don't bring enough punch for the extra 500 pts; essentially the 9 obliterator surprise is blunted.

You could consider 2 CADs, that will free up some points, then you can still have the 9 oblits but in 5 or 6 squads. You also free up some points for something special (maulerfiend to run with them, lords onto a bike, heldrake, that sort of thing).

Nice idea, but go to two CADs.

is 18 oblitz at 2k formidable? i feel like too many armies are better optimized at 2k than csm.

are 9 oblitz enough to fight my friend with 2 imperial knights and guardamen at 1000k? how about a player with 6 wave serpent?

With csm you might find a hard time finding anything in the codex to combat 6 wave serpents at 1000k. I would do a heavy rush list against waves.
