I'm really, really new here and this will probably get moved to a more appropriate subcategory, but I'm building an army of Adeptus Custodes (GK) and I'm allying them with a Imperial Fists firebase. Since my army is themed about the theoretical final battle for Terra (as in 41k, not 30k), is there any fluff on which division of the IF would be most likely to be on Terra? Is there a particular company that stays on Terra full-time, or can I just pick the one I like the look of the best?

If there was any chance of threat to Terra, all the Imperial Fists would rally back to their homeworld. So you could pick any company you want.

The 3rd Company are known as the Sentinels of Terra, so I'd guess they would be the ones most likley to be there at first. However, you could really pick any part of any army you wanted; if word comes through that Terra is under attack by anything at all, every Space Marine Chapter and any IG Regiment that can be bundled onto a transport ship is going to drop whatever they are doing and go all-out for Terra.

The Imperium would happily sacrifice a thousand systems to save Terra.

I imagine the IFs rotate differnt units back and forth to Terra, a snit on Terra after a hard campagin elsewhere, to reequip, recoup etc would be a pretty solid way to handle it.
