I have a bunch of the old torso fronts here (from the old tactical squad kits) and I was wondering if they fit the backs from the new tactical squad sprues. I guess I'm just wondering if the holes/pegs line up properly, and if the edges of the bits line up properly. Thanks!

I have 2nd edition metal marines, new and older, don,t think the size has ever changed.

Cannot call that a fact but I'm pretty sure sizes have never changed much at all. I used new plastic on old metal just fine. The arms etc seemed to fit no differently, same with some older plastics.

Only ones I think differ arepush fit.

At worst just cut off the peg and glue carefully I think.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Thanks for the info. But the old metal torsos came in one piece right? I was asking about the plastic 2-piece torsos where the front half pushed into the back half via pegs. I was wondering if the old and new pegs matched, and if outside of the bits matched.

With the release of the latest vanilla codex, including the new tactical and vets kits, and presumably everything since, they swapped the polarity on the torso pegs. While it should be a reasonably easy fix, you just need to cut off the pegs, you do need to make sure things line up by hand. I’ve only done this once, using the old SM commander caped back with a modern front, and it worked fine.

But the new/old kits are not 100% compatible. Really close, but not a perfect match.

Thanks. This is the info I was looking for.

If its not a perfect fit, you can always over-glue the area if you use super glue, or use a little green stuff, and then file it smooth, so it doesn't leave a hard, overhanging edge around the torso
