I'm just wondering if it doesn't seem too outlandish for inquisitors of different orders to work together, given the rarity of inquisitors to work together anyways.

Although I think it would potentially spawn some rivalry between them, I see no problems With that scenario. Like all people in 40k with such authority, depending on their personalities, I could see them working really well together or hating every second they are in each others presence.

A Inquisitor doesn't normally work in conjunction with others, especially with those from different ordos. But on occasion there exists needs for the combined intellect and resources of multiple such individuals, to form a conclave of Inquisitors:

Even within an Ordo, fields of endeavour seldom overlap completely. Each branch, after all, encompasses an almost infinite potential for study and investigation. Even so, Inquisitors sometimes band together into a loose association called a conclave. A conclave is assembled at the request of a respected Inquisitor, who seeks to pool the skills, knowledge and resources of his peers in order to oppose a threat too great for a single Inquisitor to face; an Ork Waaagh!, a daemonic incursion on a massive scale, or a plague of heresy.

that said sometimes Inqusitors end up investigating certin things that stem together. For example a Ordo Hereticus Inqusitor could be investigating a cult, while an Ordo Maellus Inqusitor is investigating some deamonic artifact. it turns ouy that said cult has the artifact and thus the two Inqusitors paths converge. sometimes they spot it quickly and work together, othertimes I imagine they get in each others way

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Indeed. It's quite possible for Inquisitor's investigations to cross paths; Inquisitors are rare, but then so are crimes and criminals worth an inquisitor's time to investigate!

Pretty much any combination is possible - rogue witches trying to control their powers might start messing around with eldar xenotech, for example.
