Stumbled across these pics on another forum. I pm'd the poster but got no reply, so I came here to ask. I have all the ork bits just need to find the right scale for the a10. I'm thinking 1/48 because thats the most common scale available. Just wanted some input before I got it.

The A-10 is most likely the Revell 1/48 kit; it's a decent kit and you can get it for $20 to $30. The piece of the fuselage has been chopped out behind the cockpit tub. The engine nacelles and the wings have been shortened as well.

Fat scale, it is a rubbery plastic toy,
.
Yes, 1/48 will be the closest scale in a model to the image, and the most plentiful selection;

A-10 is one of my favorites, a plane designed around a gun, crazy great!

You ever see "Rommel's Rod" it is a larger scale 1/24 by Revell-Monogram, but nice size for a big Battle Wagon!;

Glad you found the plane. I would have agreed with SPJ, (definitely a chopped 1/48 A10) but looks like it's a moot point now.
NIce work on the Orc conversions. The Romel's Rod looks like it could be a good starting point for a Genestealer cult limo as well.
