So I know taking an Aegis Defense Line with Plaguebearers is a pretty common tactic for some Skyfire and cover save goodness, but what about some of the other Fortifications? I am considering a Bastion to make use of my Bloodletters great BS. Also, do ammo dumps, since they let you reroll 1's for shooting attacks, would that apply to say Flickering Fire for Pink Horrors?

Yes it would apply.

Pink horrors are better than plague bearers behind an aegis. If they go to ground they have a 2+ cover rerolls on 1s versus a plain 2+ with fnp.

Im quite fond of the bastion. You can put 20 nettes in there, boost them out 12" with the escape hatch, then you can hide your warp charge generating horrors in there (who can shoot out) .

Hadn't thought of using ammo dump to boost hit rates.. its a bit siturtional tho.

The extra benefit of a bastion is its big enough to hide your FMCs behind it during deployment

IMO the way to go is aegis to give horrors a 2+ reroll able cover save while they summon, a communication relay, and an ammo dump for shooting units like horrors or soul grinders. Grinders are so large they can advance for 2 turns and stay in range of the depo

I am putting a list together involving the landing pad. I have made a conversion to make it more of a daemonic altar than a landing pad, but the footprint is the same.

The plan is to use this as a firebase for soul grinders and obliterators. All with the mark of tzeentch. Hoping to get cursed earth as well, giving any tzeentch daemon on it a 3++ rerolling ones. I don't consider it OP, but it should give tzeentch marks some love.

Those also make a great shooting platform for Horrors. You can summon Screamers/Daemonettes/etc. all while staying safe. Also, your Tzeentch powers are deadly at 18"-24", so anyone who tries to rush your tower will get psychic blasted.

That is nice, but when you go to ground, don't you stop shooting the Quad Gun? Plague Bearers get a 2+ without going to ground.

There are those turns in the game when there is nothing flying about to shoot at with the Quad Gun.
Pink Horrors generate Warp Charges and can Summon.

I guess my other question is since the Quad Gun goes in top, can 1 unit be inside the Bastion and on top manning the gun? Or would it have to be two units, since one is embarked in the bastion?

Excellent. I am leaning towards Pink Horrors just for the Psychic shooting if guys get too close to the Bastion, but the Plaguebearer's Shrouded is nice too.
