Hey guys after reading the rules for heavy tanks and tank shock/ramming. I would like to think a leman russ can ram another tanks and then shoot at another target using full bs. What do you guys think

Nothing in the Heavy rules gives you permission to over ride the rules for Tank Shock

It say a heavy tank counts as not having moved for the purpose of firing its weapons. And a shock and ram are both a movement feom what i can read which overrules a normal tank that does not get this rule. Its doesnt say say count as remaining stationairy exept if tank shocked or rammed. But that might just not be me. I want to get a debate going. I want to know why people think no and why they think yes

You count as stationary, not you count as not having tank shocked. It would need to specifically say that to count as not tank shocking.

Also the restrictions from tank shock come from doing a tank shock, not because you moved so counting as stationary would do nothing.

This is cut and dry.

Tank shock clearly stated as having moved atleast combat speed meaning it is a movement . And in the paragraph for tank it clearly states you can move and during the movement declare a tank shock or ram. Meaning for purposes of rules it is a movement. It also says thay ramming is a type of tank shock so it suggest that it is also a movement

And? You still Tank Shocked. You count as stationary for shooting and only for shooting. Not for Tank Shock

I know but my question is would i fire all my gun counting as not moved after the tankshock/ram

No because you still count as having Tank Shocked and nothing in the Heavy rule specifically gets around it.

Is the shooting restriction only on ramming, not tank shock?

Tank Shock and Ramming are functionally identical. I'm just referring to only tank shocking as shorthand

Oh... I'll have to double check my book, I was sure the part about shooting was only in the ramming section. I'll be back!

Ramming will force Snap Shots, Tank Shocking won't.

In this case you will count as stationary, and as having rammed. Still Snap Shots.

I'm pretty sure that when you tank shock, you're not firing snapshots unless you've moved cruising speed. You just declare the speed and direction of movement and follow them.

However, when you ram - you're reduced to snapshots and got to move as far as possible in declared direction.

But it sais in the tank shock section setion move until you you encounter an enemy unit or vehicle and if you keep reading it seem like raming is just the tank shock part but what would happen if you hit a tank

It does say ramming if done in the same way as a tank shock. So that meams i would have counted as moving combat speed.. To be honest i think this part of the book need clarification. It sais declare a ram or tank shock but if you read the 2 it both says if you envounter the other do a ram or tank shock. so i can declare a tank shock and when i hit a tank i would usr the damage part of the ramming?i mean gw should of made this one rule and not 2 and just said if you hit a tank you get shaken

Readinh further in the book. If you say tank shocking is not moving then i can tank shock and say i dont have to take a dangeroues terrain test because i didnt move threw it. I dont see other then the paragraph of ramming . So i can just tank shock a tank and then use the damage rules for ramming instead?

Please use a spell-checker. Or at least make your own corrections.

The answer was given by Grendel, who, i'm sure, has checked the rulebook to give you his answer.

A Leman russ cannot Ram and then fire at full BS, no. It is forced to Snap shoot.
Nothing in the rules for "heavy Vehicle" will change that fact.

1. You still move and incur any DT tests.
2. Read the second sentence in the ramming section. Nothing about movement causing the Tank to Snap Shot.
3. You cannot Tank Shock a vehicle. Reread the Tank Shock rules.

Tank shocking doesn't effect a vehicles shooting, aside from the movement speed it must use (which will count as "stationary" due to the Heavy rule). It's only Ramming that makes much difference.
