Hi there I'm wanting to start playing Malifaux specifically the Neverborn. What will I need to start playing? and what models do you recommend? Thank you in advance

Even within each faction, there is a lot of variety. The swamp witch, the demons, the spooky little kid.... So, to get some good advice, I'd ask what about the neverborn do you like?

A good first purchase, regardless though, will include the rule book, a fate deck, and a crew box. There are a million good things that could be added on to that list, but that's a solid start.

If your local area has a henchman (a guy who works under Wyrd to do demos and events), go talk to him/her about playing a couple demos.

Start with the mini (or big if you want fluff) rulebook and a fate deck (a poker deck will work, but the suits are different and that extra step can be a bit confusing).

After that, pick a box you like. The Malifaux wiki, PullMyFinger, has a great guide to all of them, as well as on choosing a master.

My advice: Avoid Lucius, Collodi, and possibly the Dreamer or Pandora when you start, as they are more difficult to learn and have some unreleased models that are fairly essential.

Lillith, Jakob Lynch, and Zoraida are very good starters.

Then, pick up a second box of models, not necessarily another master, that you like in order to round out your list.

For Lillith: A box of Nephilim (2 Young, 1 Mature) and Nekima (her sister) are great choices. This also allows her to play a Grow List (as things die, her Terror Tots turn into Young, and possibly Mature Nephilim).
- Waldgeists are another good option if you want to make temporary forests.

For Lynch: Beckoners, Depleted, Mr. Tannen, and Mr. Graves are all fantastic choices, as are Terror Tots (he makes them very fast).

For Zoraida: Waldgeists, Spawn Mother (difficult to find right now) go great with her.

quite often two crew boxes will work really well together for instance if you bought mother of monsters(lilith) and dark debts(jacob lynch) you get very good scheme runners (tots) along with some of the best minions in the game (illuminated) and from there you have a good base to start the whole faction, after that waldgeists, nephilim box and beckoners will be great additions.

Would dreamer and lynch boxes work together or dreamer and pandora?

The dreamer box actually synergizes well with collodi, who has solid starter.after that I'd say dreamer has more synergy with lynch. Also, as a newjack you're going to want to stay away from Pandora like the plague

The best way to expand the Dreamer is with individual models, not another starter, IMO.

Mr Tannen and a Teddy or two (one to deploy, one to summon if you want people to hate you). A box of Terror Tots (they're still awesome scheme runners outside of Liliths crew). Widow Weaver, Lelu, Lilutu, Stitched Togethers and Insidious Madness's. Though the latter 5 are only available as hard to track down metals at the moment, so you might need to do some ebay hunting or just proxy until the plastic show up, which shouldn't be too long.

Anyone know if the collodi box set is getting a reissue soonish? Or they just randomly announce things?

It's in the Crossroads expansion, so it'll be 'soon'. But yeah, they pretty much randomly announce releases every month. They're a lot like GW in their second edition 40k days in that respect.
