The main limitation you are going to have is getting the upgrade cards you need to run ships the way you want to. This is particularly the case if you are looking at running bigger ships like the YT-2400 which tend to be kitted out. This isn't an issue if you are playing casually because you can always print off the cards yourself, but competitive or semi competitive (depends on your gaming group) you are going to need the actual cards. If you are interested in playing Rebels I would highly recommend getting at least 1 Z-95 though, they are great just as cheap filler ships and if you have points spare at the end you are almost always going to be better off putting in another ship than putting 12pts of upgrades on things.
Most Slave builds I see tend to be double Slave, and I don't play Imperials so can't comment much on other options. The YT-2400 is usually run as either Fat Dash + support or Leebo + Chewie. Fat Dash is usually Outrider, Heavy Laser Cannon, Push the Limit, Kyle Katarn and Engine Upgrade, usually supported by a couple of Z's or sometimes Corran Horn (
VI, Fire Control and R2-D2).
