I've been visiting this site for a few years now and finally decided to take the next step and join in.
I started playing Warhammer 40K in 1998 when I purchased a painted Chaos Space Marine army for $150. I started with a nicely painted Bloodthirster, Lord of Change, Ahriman, Kharn, Abbadon, 20 Chaos Space Marines, 4 lascannon Havocs, 4 missile launcher Havocs, 2 heavy bolter Havocs, 20 Khorne Berserkers, 7 bloodletters, and 5 fleshhounds. I have since added quite a bit to this army, including enough daemons to field an all daemon army.
I purchased the starter set that introduced Dark Eldar and fell in love with the sadistic little pointy elves.
I also play Tyranids. I have some old 2nd/3rd edition models intermixed with a few later editions as well.
I don't play often enough nowadays. The kids and job kind of slowed my roll. I find time to play now again though.
With the exception of a few 2 on 2 games, I only have one regular opponent. He plays Imperial Guard and Necrons. That's about it in a nutshell.
