I was reading though my codex today for tyranids and I saw that ripper swarms could take spinefists. This sounds interesting because each base has 4 attacks so with 5 bases of rippers they would have 20 shots with the spinefists, I was thinking about deep striking the rippers so I could either try to shoot at something or I could run them after I deepstrike. Any thoughts?

It sounds cool because it's a lot of twin-linked shots, but overall it wouldn't be very effective.

Short ranged, even twin-linked BS 2 won't get a ton of hits (a little over half), and strength 3. You could expect a unit of 5 rippers, nearly 100 points, to kill a single marine.

Rippers are generally a good unit because they're objective secured and can show up wherever you want them to due to DS. If you've got extra points left over, add some spinefists for LOLS (they're a decent enough weapon against T3 enemies like Eldar and Guard), but don't go over the minimum unit size of 3. Rippers are best in small groups, where the tiny size of the model makes it difficult for enemy troops to get LOS on them. Larger units makes it easier for those enemies to find a target.

I got the swarm box so i have 5 bases of rippers and I was planning on running all five in a group, is this not a good idea?

They're small enough to block line of sight to them with any decent bit of cover. Min units that DS on Objectives will suffice.
