I know that daemons are only able to join daemons of the same alignment and as such can't join squads of chaos marines. However, say I'm playing crimson slaughter and took a tzeentch sorcerer with the daemon heart, would he then be allowed to join a squad of tzeentch daemons?

Unfortunately, no. The daemonic instability rule states : models with this rule can never join, or be joined by models without this special rule.
