I've been looking around on google for inspiration to paint up some necrons, but I just can't decide what to do with them , so I'm asking you guys for help finding cool examples. Only colours I'm trying to avoid are red(Because I finally finished painting my Blood Angels and I'm sick of it.), purple(Because that's my DE scheme), and blue and bone(Because that's a future scheme I have planned for allied Eldar Wraithwing.). Cheers if you guys can help my with my block!

Lets try to not make more chaos gods, ok guys?
I'd call this thread a trainwreck, but trainwrecks are legitimately horrifying to watch. This is hilarious. |

Looks dazzling but I'm seriously doubting I could paint at that level, thanks for the pic though! Bumping thread to get more replys.

That paintjob would really not be that hard to achieve.
You need a template, an airbrush, and some masking tape

I did mine based on the idea that they pop up from underground. Thus they have a somewhat earthy/stone look to them.
Sorry for the bad pics, old camera, old pics.

Jayden63 and Bocete those look awesome! I actually just came to end the thread, cause I think I just figured out what scheme AND fluff I plan on using for my newcrons. I'm going to go with this scheme that I found on some dakkadakka-esque website: http://thetyranidhive.proboards.com/thread/37004/necron-colour-scheme-test Fluff time: They're called the Regius Dynasty (Latin for Royal), because they directly serve the Silent King. After he exiled himself from the galaxy, he saw the tyranids coming and turned back to save everybody's collective butts. He came back to find no united necron empire, but just squabbling dynasties along with alien races. He didn't have any allies to help him reclaim control, so he managed to steal Orikan's time travel device, go back to the War in Heaven right after the the C'tan were defeated, and brought back with him a legion of ancient necrons who were unwavering in their loyalty to him. They still had their original white paint, since it was not stripped away by the passing of millennia, and they painted their pauldrons purple, the colour of royalty, to show their status as the personal guard of the true king. Their technology glows yellow instead of green because they aren't connected to any of the networks that the rest of the necrons share, in addition to the fact that their systems are actually in better working order than those of their brethren who slept the eons away. The one true king has come back for his throne. Automatically Appended Next Post: Dang it feels good to get backstory sorted out! Thanks for helping me destroy that mental block guys!

I like the first green flame one and the black and orange scheme.
