Hey dude, having been throne of skulls on multiple occasions before here's a quick run down of what you will see. Atleast half the armies there are non competitive. with a decent list that can handle itself, you will win most of your games if you play the objectives. As for the other half, dirty, sweaty, cheesy peeps who prepare months before and go to open cans of whoop ass. You will see every kind of death star, triple tide lists. Fmc everywhere and flyer spam. Space marines are the most common followed swiftly by Eldar and tau. Nids and necrons normally aren't high in numbers and surprisingly there are always a lot of ork players. If your going, go hard, I always go 4 out of 6. 5 wins is my best but that was once. Every other time has been 4 wins out of 6. Normally I'll win my first 2 games against less competitive opponents and then 3rd round get paired against cheese/Death Star and lose. Win my next 2 again and then lose final game to more cheese. If you concentrate on the objectives you should do well.

O and the pub quiz in bug mans bar after the first day is a good laugh. It's a nice way to chill out after some serious gaming. Don't be lenient on your opponents though. Quite a few people try it on and act dumb when they are blatantly trying to shoot down your flyers with a ADL quad manned by a dreadnought. If your ever in doubt get a judge.

Can't really comment on your list as the only time I've used renegades was using imperial rules for the vendetta spam. Got my ass handed to me that weekend as the new tau codex had just released and missle sides where everywhere.

But yeah just a few pointers for the tourney. Apologies for going off topic.

First of all your list is illegal. In order to take the Grenadier upgrade on vets your Arch-Demagogue needs to take the Bloody Reaver devotion which you did not do.

Next is why are you wasting points on lascannons on your disciples? It doesn't mix well at all with the rest of the unit which is all rapid fire infantry weapons (especially since you decided to spend points to take more of them for more lasguns). If you move the lascannon shoots awful (even with Covenant of Tzeentch) and if you don't move it waste the rest of the unit's shooting. if you want lascannons then take a platoon and put them in the infantry squads because they are much cheaper and will be shooting them just as good. And with the lascannon gone they don't even need covenant of tzeentch anymore since the only it would is give you a few more hits in overwatch which is not worth the 10 pts.

I would drop the ogryns completely (they are so overcosted they aren't even playable in casual games) and then use the spare elite slot to make another disciple unit out of the extra ones you added to the other units because its cheaper to buy a base unit. Cause if you do you get another plasmagun for free basically.

I would considered putting the second vet squad in a chimera for better AV saturation because a single chimera has a huge bull's eye on it. Also you need the mobility for maelstrom missions.

I'd drop the Banner of Hatred. Its incredibly expensive and the Command Vox should already be doing most of the work.

And personally I don't think LRBTs are good I'd use a different variant but that is a matter of personal opinion.

Should do okay.

After all, the steaming cheese army lists are somewhat reduced in lethality due to (a) maelstrom of war, which a lot of netlists aren't designed for (it doesn't suit 'deathstars' which can only be in one place at once, or knight lances with only 5 models in the army) and (b) the need to actually get many, many 'favourite game votes' to win, which requires you to offer a fun, interesting game to play and be a nice person whilst setting their entire army on fire. The average WAAC player does not comprehend this.

As to your list....

Hm.

Command Squad - as noted, do you really need both the command vox and the banner? I know renegade leadership is unreliable, but sigils are generally a better way of shoring it up to my mind. Also - covenant of tzeench is nice, but do you really want to be snapfiring plasma weapons?

The disciples, as noted - extra disciples are expensive and if you're taking lascannon/plasma squads, it's not like the lasguns are going to add much to the mix.

Ogryns hit like a freight train, but I'm not convinced they'll make it to the enemy if you ask them to footslog.

Spawn are just awesome.

As noted, you need Bloody-Handed Reaver to field grenadiers. You can easily find the points, and if you want to field 'fake scions', go right ahead...

I'm not convinced two units of 15 mutants will achieve much. One bigger unit with a few upgrades is more likely to hold its ground against incoming fire.

And finally....big guns. Can't really go wrong, can you?

Good luck!

I didn't manage to get a ticket - I was tempted to try something really random, like an assassins army or an unbound Biotitan brood to mix it up with the inevitable knights.
