Hey everyone.. looking for some thoughts about the list below.

I'm looking to bring this to a fun tournament. By fun I mean it is intended to be fun with all comers list, but I will admit the last time I went to one of these over a year ago there was Serpent Spam, 3x Riptides with Farsight, and CSM Flying circus prior to the Hell Drake nerf.

Harlequins - Primary Detachment (Cast of Players)
DeathJester
ShadowSeer
- Mask of Secrets
- ML 2
Troupe
- Troupe Master - Caress
- 8x Players - Kiss (all 8 has the kiss)

Codex Eldar - Combined Arms Detachment
- (HQ) 2x Spirit Seer
- (Troops) 3x Jetbikes
- (Troops) 5x DA w/ Serpent (Scatter Laser and Holofields)
- (Troops) 8x Axe Blades w/ Serpent (Scatter Laser and Holofields)
- (Fast Attack) 1x Crimson Hunter (Exarch)
- (Heavy Support) 2x Fire Prisms (Holofields)
- (Heavy Support) 1x WraithKnight (2x WraithCannons)

The thought is to have the AxeBlades run up the middle or flank to engage in CC asap. Harlequins will follow behind and off to the side a little. I'm thinking of making the Troupe Master the Warlord with the Light warlord trait. If the enemy has lots of troops close to the board edge, on my first turn I will load the Harlequins into the empty Wave Serpent, and boost them across the table to disembark the next turn. In which case, unless that unit has outran me, I will use the -4 leadership to run them off the board. At least that is the thought.

Critique please. Thanks in advance!

Harlequins have no good way of getting into combat aka going to die before they do anything(Shadowseer does help though) but if you fail to get his primaris power out you are screwed. Plus give the Harlequins More Caresses in numbers they are brilliant, much better than kisses.

Yes, the troupe is pretty vulnerable in this list. I would say bring them down in size and give them a transport.

In numbers...
They are better in groups and can actually harm av 14 Vehicles. (I normally take 2 Kisses and 3 Caresses in a squad of 5)

True, was just getting at that Kisses are better against armour, while taking some caresses gives the ability to destroy tanks.( though str 6 can hurt some rear armour)

Not a Land Raider, and they are bound to appear in 1850 Points

Indeed not a landraider, but low rear armour such as wave serpents, leman russ, hammerhead etc.

Number of Hull Points a kiss removes from a rear armour 10 Vehicle on average:
0.66
Number of Hull Points a Caress removes from a rear armour 10 Vehicle on average:
0.81

And you're also paying 62% more for the privilege. Personally, I like my Harlies to murderlate infantry which they do consistently, not pray for rends on tanks. CWE/DE have plenty of better AT options, I let them do what they're good at and let the Harlies do what they're good at. It's not that you caresses are bad or that Kisses are amazing, they're actually well balanced in terms of output. But the Kiss is consistent vs infantry which is usually your main target, while simultaneously being cheaper. If you are running a full on Harlies list w/minimal allies, then carresses on a troupe is a fine idea for AT, but otherwise Kisses do what you want cheaper by and large.

Specific to this army: The basic idea of your first list was good. Instead of axes, I'd go for regular WG though as they threaten a lot more area, which you're going to need to make up for their being so slow. Find points to throw in a Farseer (honestly I have such a hard time not including a jetseer in every list). One source of points would be to grab the WS for your Wraiths instead of DAs. Since the Wraiths are troops it's still Obsec, and you save the 60 points on DAs. Use the WG to screen out for the Harlies so your oppoenet can't get in veils range, Harlies mulch anything that tries to tie down the WG in CC. Fireprisms are lackluster, but if it's what you got and it works then it's alright. Not a fan myself, I'd rather have the Nightspinners. Also, remember that Cast of Players has 3 different models that can take Haywire grenades if you want extra AT. Rest looks good.

I'm not a fan at all of the second list. Shinning spears are meh (I know, I've tried my damnedest to get them to work), and Jest forces you to take the two things you want least in the Harlie codex (skyweavers and Voidweavers) and doesn't allow you access to the best unit from the codex (shadowseers). Do as you will with the Shinning spears, but I can't ever see wanting to run Jest for any reason. To that point: For 140 points more than what you spent on Jest, you can take a Mask of 3 x kiss troupes, 2 x starweavers, and a voidweaver while still getting crescendo. Add in another 100 for a ML 2 shadowseer w/mask and it's 680 grand total. So ~260 more points gets you a lot more flexibility, don't have to take skyweavers, and crescendo.

It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.
