Any rumors for the next upcoming Codecies? What order are they planning on updating the codecies?



I'd love to see a 7th edition Tau book!

Don't get your hopes up for Tau this year. Skitarii seems to be the next one after the Khorne-dex and I've seen himts at Eldar. I'd like to see other Chaos god dexes before anything else.

There's a whole news and rumours section near the top dedicated to just this sort of discussion, but Khorne Daemonkin goes on pre order tonight, Adeptus Mechanicus gets the first of its rumoured two books in two weeks and we've also had hints of Space Marine and Eldar this year, partly because Eldar need to be a bit less broken, but also because there's a strong rumour that all resin/Finecast models are getting ganked, which means books that rely heavily on units which are currently in that medium need rejigging.

I bet we will get this year Mechanicus forces, gene steeled cult and kroot codex.

And sisters...

One of the latest rumours said Tau Eldar and SM will all be this year. Let's pray nerf nerf buff in that order

*laughs* "Honestly, I've only played tau in 4th ed. Completely missed all the cheese that they turned into. And now that I'm back, I wouldn't mind them becoming nerfed or balanced. I'd just like to see more awesome Tau stuff!"

I would really like tau elder and SM to come out. Tau really needs a nerf, as does Eldar. I love Tau, but people are playing them just to spam riptides and its really sad, because crisis suits are my love and joy. If they nerf crisis suits though I think I would be very angry with GW.

Eldar is kinda straightforward, they really need a change to really open up other metas for them.

SM I would like to see a small rework, not a giant one. I would love for them to throw BA and SW in the one dex but i know that won't happen. I'd really like them to change a few elites up, and maybe make a new fast attack option?

How did you miss the cheese in 4th? That was the age of the fish of fury!

Tau just need a lateral movement, remove the power of riptides a little, buffer out their unused suits (stealth), kroot need more options and to be something other then snipers, and vespids could use a slight buff.

Honestly I'd be more than a little ticked off if they released Tau and Eldar again so soon.
It's only bee two years since the previous $50 ones, so to pay another $50 for a new one would be, between the older codex and supplement, the new codex, and seemingly mandatory supplement would be $200 in two years.

But would you be surprised if they milked two of the most popular Xenos codices for an extra 50$ minimum each?

Not to mention model purchases from the inevitable nerfs/balance changes, and the glut of wave serpents that will hit ebay! (Not that it helps GW...)

Tau just suffer from awful internal balance, so i'd like to see it as well. however they arent as bad as they once were now that a lot of other books got their update.

I didn't have any Devilfish then, I focused purely on a Suit army. Then my LGS shut down due to issues and I quit until 7th ed.

Khorne Codex in WD and everywhere

Most people pretty certain Adeptus Mechanicus Codex soon

Eldar NEED fixing and so possible - whether it make them better or worse is difficult to know. Wave Serpents are very unlikely to stay as is - ie Superbroken but its GW so hard to know - they may make them better!

Adepta Sororitas have the usual rumours - be awesome if they do but for whatever reason they never seem to happen

Genestealer Cults are rumoured.

Tau would be good - but they might just end up with more and bigger Riptides which would be a shame and please few.

Hopefully not yet another Space Marine Codex or more accurately "difficult coloured armour supplement".......

Would be nice to have had a Wych Cult Supplement but since they made them soooo very bad in the game and absolutely counter to the fluff - yeah WS 4 - same as Guardians is right, I doubt it.

If the rumors about Fineco$t being axed completely are true, then Chaos Marines should really be jumping in behind Eldar, as both those armies are pretty much 50% Finecrap options...
Eldar would require all their various Aspects bar Avengers updated, while CSM's are pretty much saddled with almost all their actual upgrade options & Cult units as being exclusively in resin.

Plus there's the fact that of all the armies currently available 'off the shelf', CSM's are not only the worst looking, but also suffer from almost all their kits utterly lacking in their relevant upgrade options!
For example, if/when the Finecast Havoc upgrade pack is no more, Chaos Marines will have only ONE available Heavy weapon option on their PA squads - the Heavy Bolter!
