I'm trying to experiment with different colors for a mechanicus themed pc case, but I've been having trouble pinning down a good color to use for it. It's an orange case which I thought I might use for a sort of dark bronze and red rust sort of thing.

But this one threw me to see in my local games workshop:

Basically pure red of some kind...with some black around the edges.

Do you guys think this look seems convincing/realistic? (And what colors do you think might have gone in to making this? I'm rather clueless.)

It isn't "fluff" - it's lore.

That red looks like common red oxide spray primer with a little drybrushing.

looks like it was primed black, hit with the mephiston red spray can, then drybrushed/highlighted.

That looks closer to brown than red to me. It's definitely not Mephiston Red spray. Could it be Mournfang Brown?

Hmm...you guys gave me some ideas of what to start experimenting with at least; thanks
