As the headline says, can you kit your tyrant so he can charge through cover without penalty?

This is pretty clearly laid out in the codex. Hint check when options they can take (pg 247 in the epub version)

Thanks, I really appreciate the vague answer to my specific question. I'm not asking for points values or stats, I'm asking about a specific option and whether it's possible.

I'm looking at the codex which requires cross-referencing 5 different lists with the glossary, including multiple items that do the same task. I've played literally one game with the Tyranids, just looking for a little help.

So far I am thoroughly underwhelmed by the Tyranid community on this forum. Post a question about IG and the suggestions and answers come flooding in. Post a question or army list about 'Nids and no one has a positive thing to say.

It wasn't a vague answer. It was pretty specific.

No, it doesn't. Here, lemme pulled up my (epub) codex. Page 157 has the Hive Tyrant Army List Entry. It gives permission to refer to Monstrous Bio-Cannons, Melee Weapons, Biomorphs, Thorax Biomorphs, and Artifacts.

We know Flesh Hooks and Spine Banks aren't on any of those lists (a 10 second perusal of page 150 tells us this).

Your loss. And are you intentionally avoiding the Tactics section with the 150+ page thread on Tyranid tactics?

The reason for the vague answer is because some people just create threads like this in lieu of purchasing a codex (which is really silly since it's not hard to download illegally, and that is no less morally ambiguous than creating a thread as a workaround).

Not saying anything personally about your motives, but questions like that do enable people who are less motivated to actually purchase content.

To answer your question more specifically, no there is sadly no workaround. Very select units are able to get that biomorph upgrade, and he tyrant isn't one of them. Which is just as well - he really should not be charging things in most situations anyhow.

And just a tidbit about the army list section - it is much less active for Tyranids than the thread that Rigeld mentioned. If you have any questions, I've personally found both it and the people who frequent it to be quite helpful.
