Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone knows any alternatives to GW's chaos halberds?
As the existing ones are pants, expensive and have to be bought separately..(gross)

What I did was use the 'lances' from the plastic Chaos knights, which are mostly more like polearms than lances anyway. Most people tend to arm their knights with ensorcelled hand weapons, so the lances are likely to be spare.
You should be able to either trade with people or get some from bits sites such as bitzbox.

Another good alternative is the banner pole from the warrior box with an axe head. Obviously not going to arm a whole unit this way (I think there's 3 per box), but it's a start.

Actually that's exactly what I did. Cut up the banner pole. Should get roughly 3 halberds worth per pole. Attach to the bottom of fist with axe or hammer top. Box also comes with spikes. Add those to top of weapons. I'll attach pics.

That actually looks pretty good, along with the 3 lances I have from some skullcrushers I'll at least be able to give the impression there are halberds present

I bought some from the Lead Adventures Bruegelburg line (Cool Mini or Not carries them). Drilled a hole in the hand of each warrior and then just slipped them right through.
The halberd-heads aren't as impressive as those above, but it works and was inexpensive.

I don't think they're looking for a $50 option for 1-2 halberds...
Call it a hunch.
