People still play evolve?
"looks at steam chart"
Number 72 on list, current online players: 2451.
So no, nobody plays it anymore. Predicted lifespan was about right.

I wanted to like this game. I really did. The previews made it look like it was going to be a very good game. I cannot put my finger on what went wrong with it. It gets boring very quickly and is very repetitive. I think back to games like the online multiplayer Halo games and even though they were repetitive they didn't feel boring.
What do you all think could have made it better?
Would a huge match with 20 humans versus 5 Monsters make it better? Would have the power levels balanced and maxed out from the very beginning help?
I feel like if at any time a monster could dispatch about 4 humans at the same rate as four humans taking out a monster would have been a lot better. Get rid of the hunting part and just have one big brawl from the get go.
Some official modding tools would prolong the lifespan of the game as well. If players were given the ability to create their own maps, their own monsters, and their own player characters—or even new gameplay modes—Evolve would thrive under the care of the community.

It's been mentioned a few times that there's an unstable equilibrium in the game by a few reviewers, sometimes the game just ends up as "running simulator", or you get a bad monster and the game immediately ends.

If online communities have taught us anything, it's that they should not be allowed to have power.

Not even the skyrim modders over at nexus mods?

With the abundance of nude mods that come from there?
You need outside policing from someone sensible.

See I never even look at mods like that. There are plenty of awesome mods on there. A policy or two would keep the riff raff out.

The Last Chancer Who Survived

This is 1 game where I actually prefer playing online. I always play as a hunter, and usually the guy playing the monster is dumb and dies easy. In single player mode, even when I drop the difficulty, it's always ridiculously hard for me, stuff is happening so fast I can barely keep track of where the monster is and next thing I know the game's over and I'm dead.
But, usually when I buy a game, I do nothing but playing it for a week straight and give up on my TV shows. I gave this game 2 solid days and mixed in 2 or 3 nights but I just don't have any interest :( $80 blown. Makes me wonder if I should just join Gamefly so I can try before I buy and/or keep as long as I like.
