I've only played three games since I started this hobby (lack of players) and I barely grasp good list building. I could really use the feedback. I'm trying to make a list that's fun and not super competitive, but i don't want to get tabled either.

I would recommend dropping the Plasma from everything and replacing with Melta.

I would also switch the terminator squad to an assault termi squad. TH/SS

BA's are lucky enough to be able to take Heavy Flamers in their tac squads. I would recommend this instead of MLs.

Both of those ideas have been noted. But besides the hq choice, is there any other tips you want to throw at me or is this list sounding somewhat solid?

Besides you nuking all your expensive characters with plasma, it should be fun.

However, you need to take the BA rules and use them to your advantage. IE Furious Charge.

Okay, I upgraded the list to add more melta and less plasma. Also, I changed the termies to TH/SS. Idk what else to throw at the list, since I'm not as familiar with the game as I wish I was. But I appreciate the help from you all

With the exception of some (most) named characters, your Warlord's trait is randomly rolled before the game. So he doesn't know yet.

And your list has a major flaw. Footslogging your Tacticals is a good way to get them killed. Especially when they are built to work on close distance.
Either a Drop Pod or a Rhino for each squad is definitely worth it.
Also, watch out with Plasma Pistols on Sergeant. You don't want that Gets Hot! to kill your character, especially when he has a Power Fist. And since he has such an expensive weapon, it would be a waste not to promote him to a Veteran for that extra attack with S8 AP2.

Drop the plasma pistol from the assault sergeant. Get either an inferno pistol or a combi-melta (remember, with the power fist, you will be losing attacks anyway). Replace the captain with a chaplain (which will give the DC Hatred). If you must keep he captain, take Valour's Edge. It's only 5pts more expensive and is AP2.

Infernus pistols are pretty much a joke wih their range, I would pass.
And the DC hardly need Chaplain, a squad of then will steamroll through anything with no problems even without help.

Valour's Edge is a good idea tough.

Adding transports for the Tacticals goes over my point limit. Is there any other way to get around this? Maybe less DC marines?

Drop podding some tacticals will free up some points. They work great for securing objectives too as they have obj sec if they belong to the tacts.

Combat squad them and you have 3 objective secured units arriving turn 1 (potentially grabbing 3 objectives).

I would take pods instead but my list features what models I have. So investing in pods is a must for my next purchase.
