Hey everyone, I am starting tyranids and i would like your opinion for my list. the only thing is i NEED to include my deathleaper. I just love them so much.

Feel free to propose any changes or even completely reconstruct my list if you feel so inclined, maybe even build a list around the death leaper (which would be cool, please someone do that) anyway this is the (sort of basic) tyranid list I came up with.

HQ

Deathleaper / 130
Hive Tyrant : wings 2 devorers / 240

Troops

Hormagaunt x20 / 100
Hormagaunt x20 / 100
Termagunt x30 / 120
Tervigon : thorax weapon/ 205
Warriors x3 : bone,whip+deathspitter (1 stranglethorn) / 170

Heavy Support
Biovore x3 / 120
Exocrine / 170
Mawloc : toxinspike / 150

Any Help at all is wanted/needed/acceped (choose one)

Thanks in advance

I would split up the biovores into single model broods. There really is no benefit of having three in a single brood. If the first one misses, the other two are just 80 points of doing nothing that shooting phase. With singles, you get three chances for that direct hit on sniping characters, three times to miss and crest spore mines, and you don't to worry about extra wounds bleeding over. You can take this list in double CAD or maybe one as a HFD. Forward synapse is going to be light so a reroll on the IB chart would be great for those units you plan to play forward and still work out of synapse. I would also try to find room for a venomthrope or a malanthrope. They are worth every penny for surviving an alpha strike. Making 2+ cover saves in a ruin is just too good to pass up. Lose the death spider and las hip on the Warriors to free up the points for the venon and crushing claws on the tervigon.

Well, a couple of things jump out...You have all the parts to a Living Artillery Node, so you should do that. It gives you special rules, and you paid for all the parts anyway.

You should have some Elites, Lictors seem a natural, and you should have at least one Source of Shrouding. The next issue is you are seriously short on Synapse. If you trim extra items like the Toxin Spike, and run Warriors as x2 "vanilla", and one Cannon for 100 points, that would help free up some points.

If you fill up your Elites with a Veno, and a pair of Lictors, you can't add any Zoeys. That means you should look at a second Brood of Warriors. They are not the best choice ever, but they are hardly "bad".

As long as you are real careful with the Tervigon. and keep the Warriors in terrain, you should do "ok".

Ok I took out 10 hormagaunts, and the boneswords and deathspitters on the warriors, and i added 1 zoey and 2 venomthropes.
