Local Store is running an Escalation Tourney in a few weeks. Here are my thoughts:

60 points
Captian Oicunn w/ Dardevil, Dauntless, and Engine Upgrade. Riding along will be Mara Jade and Rebel Captive.

At 90
Add Soontir Fel w/ Push the limit and Autothrusters

at 120
Add Turr Phennir w/ Veteran Instincts, Royal Guard, Autothrusters, and stealth Device.

at 150
Hoping to add Darth Vader, TIE/x1 and Adv. Targeting Computer if it is out by then.

I really like Oicunn and the 999, but what do I run if the Raider isn't out yet?

First, they just changed Escalation official rules: you can no longer take 1 ship in your original escalation list

I wouldn't bet on the Raider being out in time for your tourney either. Only because FFG takes there sweet time in releasing things.

If they do though you can take Vader and Fel/Turr in your original list and just add Oicunn later.

It makes it so you can't run a "Fat" ship that is really hard to kill. They are mainly countering the Fat Hans and Dash that dominate. You could still run at VT-49 but it would be very stripped down or naked with a AP

That is 7 ships at 150 pts and two are pretty fat. Good luck to your opponent actually hitting Fel. And with all those TIEs in your opponents grill, Oicunn can pick off damaged ships with Vader. It will be hard for your opponent to ignore the TIEs to concentrate on Oicunn.

Hmm... Problem with your list is that it seems Oicunn's and Isard's abilities are at odds. If you overlap at the end of your movement, you don't get free actions... even Isard's.

This is not true. Overlapping only causes you to lose your "perform action" step. Anything else that allows you to perform actions will work normally.

Correct, I would have ninja'd Peregrine if I hadn't gone to check the rules to make sure what I thought was correct.

Overlapping a ship or an obstacle forces you to skip your perform action step, it doesn't prevent you from taking actions.

Taking a stress would prevent you from taking an action... even a free action, right?

I've had Imperial Aces for a while, but until recently Interceptors themselves have been out of stock in my area. I'm going to need to practice with both Fel and Turr a lot in the next few weeks. Any suggestions?

Correct. If you are stressed you can not perform actions, period. Unless you're Tycho.

PTL + autothrusters + stealth device or shield upgrade. Try to play as many games as possible and learn from your mistakes (you will definitely make them). And be honest with yourself, instead of automatically blaming bad dice when you lose Fel you should ask yourself things like "did I play too aggressively and put myself in a situation where I had to trust the dice when I should have dodged arcs at the cost of shooting". PTL interceptors are one of those ships that you have to learn through experience if you want to be good with them.

In the x-wing mission tool on the FFG site there is an arc dodging mission... Called something like Han vs Fel. Han has basic auto pilot rules, and you only control Fel. I'm going to run through that a couple times this weekend.
I ran it with whisper... It is very tough.
