When drawing line of sight on an enemy model, the targeted model's weapons, wings, banners, tails etc aren't taken into consideration. Arms, legs, torso and head however are valid targets.
Sodrawing line of sight on tyranid models can be confusing. Scything talons are obviously limbs, yet also weapons, as stated by the tyranid codex. And they have a way of...protruding. So can line of sight be drawn upon them? What about tentacles?

Most, if not all of the Tyranid weapon-symbiotes have an obvious, hand-like connection point. I'd consider anything beyond that (the blades of the scything talon, for instance) to be the weapon, just using the precedent set by every other army in the game.
