Looking for feedback on my fluffy Eldar list. Going for wraith heavy Iyanden with some matriarchal Iybraesil thrown in to go with my colour scheme. Im not very experienced when it comes to actually playing 40k, so wondering if this could work as a competitive list?

No It isn't Competitive.
First of all why are Howling Banshees in this? They are terrible due to having noway to get into combat and will die quickly. Wraithblades are a waste the Wave Serpent isn't an assault vehicle so they will be shot at before they get into combat. What is the point in two Spiritseers? The Hemlock is easily one of the worst units in the codex, swap it out for a Crimson Hunter. I think that Fire Dragons beat Wraithguard in terms of anti tank, so take D-Scythes instead. Scrap the Eldar Missle Launchers on the Wraithlords they are very overpriced. There is hardly any point of taking Scatter Lasers on the Wraithknight as it can only fire two weapons anyway.

Howling Banshees are mostly there for fluff purposes. They're on a Falcon, so the plan is to get them into/close to combat in that. The two Spiritseers are there to give wraithguards/blades within 12" battle focus (Voice of Twilight primaris power from Iyanden supplement). The Wraithblades I admit were a mistake, but they were the first unit I completed in this army, chosen for looks rather than stats. Will reconsider SL on WK and EML on WL.

Banshees will still be shot at before assaulting, Falcon is okay but you could invest in other units for its points.

If you want to run with this theme I would:

Throw away the HB's and the falcon.

Add 1 more Wraithlord.
Add 1 more Spiritseer

Then you can run a formation listed in one of the White Dwarf magazines. I can't remember what its called of hand but basically all units that are part of the formation gain Fearless.

Also, any unit 6" away from a Spiritseer gained preferred enemy on the army of your choice (choosen before the game starts)
This may not be the exact ruling but its close.

I plan to run this just to have some fun... but I do believe to run this formation you cannot have any transport vehicles in play.

You can probably afford to lose the ghostwalker matrix on everything, and lose the falcon + the banshees altogether as mentioned. I'd lose the hemlock too, but I can see the theme you're going for.

From there I'd grab another Knight (unless you want to run that formation in which case take a Lord) and maybe upgrade one of the wraithguard units to have D-scythes. The army looks like it will suffer vs. hoards and this way you can flame anything from guardsmen to marines or even terminators.

Also I'd advise against wraithblades, without any ranged weapons or an assault transport they have to stand in the open for a turn and they -will- get shot up and take casualties. I'd swap 'em out for more wraithguard, but again I can see the theme here so it depends what you're going for.

Thanks for the feedback! I've adjusted the list quite a bit. Not doing the formation yet, but will include the rest of the units needed for the formation in the 2000 points, so that I can use the formation when I expand my army even further.

Fluffy, but not effective enough at the battle field.
Wraithlords are meh since they are too slow and have a very low damage output.
Wraithguard is best used with D scythes, nothing else.
Wraith blades are not good enough in cc.
Three Spiritseers are too much. Drop two of them and add a Farseer or two Jetbike units.

My only improvement would be changing what you have put on the wraithlords, having two flamers is nice, and is definetley better than have the shuriken catapults, i'd take off the bright lances and stick something else thats more geared toward taking out infantry, reason being is as follows:

Bright lances are tank poppers, but with your wraithknight stomping around at S10 AP 2 with 4 attacks in CC, and being able to deepstrike AND move 12 inches bog standard, well thats the majority of your tank popping ability right there. Your wraithlords will be hitting with 3 S8 AP2 attacks each, so thats alot of nasty hits that could kick just about any sort of tank to death in one turn, one wraithlord could easily glance a dreadnought to death, using a wraithknight is kinda over kill but atleast you'll penertrate!

Though 2 of your 3 wraith units do have anti infantry weapons on them ( The D-sycthes and ghost swords ) if their WS gets busted up, or they end up out of range somewhere, they are kind of left out in the open with only 2 weapons to defend themselves from midrange, things like bolters and pulse carbines will tear them apart. The other squad with the wraith cannons will also find themselves in trouble alot, simply because of the lack of range on their wraithcannons ( wraithcannons are good though, more tank popping weapons to make land raiders cry )

So with your wraiths lacking any sort of nice widrange defence, you need something that DOES have the ability to back them up, such as wraithlords. you already have enough weapons and CC units to be able to deal with heavy armour with ease, so if i were you plop shurkien cannons on your heavys up the wazoo, the cannons will really tear apart anything that gets in the way, you stick 2 on each lord and 1 on the knight you have 9 S6 AP4 shots that will be suitable protection for your little wraiths to get where they need to be!

Hope this helps dude!
