Hey everyone, new to the forum here and new to 7th edition. I'm trying to put together a list and really like the idea of mogroks Bossboyz with three SAGs.
I came up with this as a pretty straight forward, take on whatever list. I'd like to hear from some successful Ork players on your thoughts!


Mogroks formation
Mogrok (Big Mek): Da Finkin' Kap; shokk attack gun; gitfinda 100
Big Mek: shokk attack gun; gitfinda 90
Big Mek: shokk attack gun; gitfinda 90
Weirdboy: Psyker (Mastery Level 2) 70
Warboss: Da Lucky Stikk; kombi-weapon with skorcha; power klaw; 'eavy armour 124

I've tried bossboyz a couple of times and...i'm not happy with how they perform. Too many points in supportive indeps. And you basically have 3 active threatening squads. At 1850 pts. With orks.

They might be somewhat fine to outflank something like a naught with meganobz or 30 boyz but in higiher pt games. 2500 at very least.

As for your list, I'd get rid of flyers and get more stuff on board. More bikes, for example. Bossboyz don't provide waaagh, so running footslogging boyz without waaagh is not great. They could potentially be fine for lists that don't need run+charge. Like bikerspam or bullyboyz. Meks could also act like more expensive nobz with killsaws and 'eavy armor. Seems reasonable.

If you want to run SAG meks, give them ammo runts.

Give ammo runts to mek guns. Additional grots are not mandatory.

Definitely agree, I think I'll drop the formation and throw down something like this?

The Formation rules don't allow the Warboss to be the warlord. Must be a big Mek.
He does get some nice bonuses though..

He's not running a formation in the last posted list. Just 2 meks, Warboss and Painboss.

Agreed on that front. I used to run a Deffwing list, and these two formations make me tempted to recreate it. Da Bullyboyz give me fearless meganobz - getting rid of their biggest weak spot - and Da Bossboyz give me three kustom force field caddies to protect them from AP2 fire, plus the option of a lucky stikk warboss to provide extreme beatings, plus infiltrate as a sort-of-deathwing-assault, plus a wierdboy to (potentially) give me teleporting or a little long ranged firepower.

I think they'd work quite well as a force...
