What do you think is the best way to deal with Daemon Summoning lists? They seem to be the big scary armies right now, so other than GK what is the way to go against them?

There is no true counter to the psychic phase
so you are boned there.
The chances of you dealing with the hoard of pink bubble gum is going to be tough. especially if they hide BLOS.
Best chance is to just gun them, get locked into combat and hope for the best on instability tests. or shoot the gak out of them with barrage weapons. and dont let them get the rerollable 2++ off the ADL going to ground.

i feel best option is to
a) STRICTLY enforce the no model? no summoning thing. (no proxiying you dang cheapskate)
b) try to get as many objectives as you can unless you can some how manage to punk a unit or two of summoning horrors.
c) possibly have fun freaking them out with mr clux. or just mass damage them in CC and hope for the best. (had a single ironclad go toss the salad of three full sized pink horror squad after dropping in. (they could NOT kill the dang thing with the bolt of change or whatever power they had (survived till T7 with 1 HP left )

My friend tried that on me, so I bought an extra 100 Pink Horrors. Now he cannot say anything O_O

Hahah But seriously, who doesn't like games with ACTUAL models over proxies. I once played a game with a buddy of mine who had proxied 3 Pepsi Cans as Broadsides. It was funny, but we both loved it when he got the actual models

The main weakness of summoning is the first turns where the engine fires up.

If you can hit hard and early, you can cripple them. Alpha strike lists are especially potent here.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Yeah thats true

Anything that can punk quite a bit of them or snipe out heralds and cripple there warp charges early will bone em

mr Clux in a rent a pod if you go first will feth up soooooooo bad since they cant shoot or generate warp charge near them. but thats harrrrd core list tailoring.

Otherwise i find drop poding some flavor of flamer works reeeeally well considering they will probably take a ADL to sit behind and GTG for 2+ rerollable 1s.

Fast hard hitting stuff, especially infiltrators and scouting units.

Trying to counter the psychic phase is largely a waste of time, and unfeasible by most tac armies.
