Hi all,
This is my first post on DakkaDakka so please bear with me. I am stuck in a bit of a predicament regarding building a list for an upcoming 1850 unbound Warhammer 40,000 tournament at my local hobby store. Here is my list so far (keep in mind that I am restricted to fully painted models that I own due to tournament restrictions.) NOTE: The tournament that I am attending will be using the Adepticon tournament packet (balanced maelstrom.)
HQ (Warlord) - Fateweaver 300pts
HQ - Be'lakor 350pts
HQ - Daemon Prince of Nurgle w/ Exalted Reward (Grimour of True Names), Daemonic Flight, Warp-Forged Armor, and Mastery Level 3 325pts
HQ - Daemon Prince of Nurgle w/ Daemonic Flight, Warp-Forged Armor, and Mastery Level 3 300pts
Fast Attack - 20x Flesh Hound of Khorne 320pts
Total: 1595
Now, as you can see, I have 255 more points to spend. Before I get to that, let's talk about the list so far. I'll go over each unit one-by-one and explain what their purpose is in the list. Fateweaver will perform his expected annoying antics by buffing the DPs and dogs, utilizing his re-rolls, and then promptly flying off the table to avoid being shot down. Be'lakor will ensure invisibility and/or shrouded on the dogs and drop to the ground t engage in combat if need be. The two DPs will roll on Malific Daemonology and/or Biomancy and will act accordingly to their rolled powers (The DP with the Grimour will use it on the dogs every turn, utilizing Fateweaver's re-roll if necessary.), Finally, the Flesh Hound "deathstar" will sport invisibility, a 3+ invuln (perhaps 2+ if one of the DPs rolls Cursed Earth), and perhaps shrouding. The Hounds will tear up most units in CC and hopefully remain near un-killable.
Now is where I need your help. I am debating whether to add a stock Wraithknight and have 20 extra points to spare, or to add 15 Plaguebearers along with a Herald of Nurgle equipped with a Greater Locus of Fecundity behind an aegis defense line (without a quadgun.) The general idea regarding adding either of these is to provide more table control. The Plaugebearers and Herald will sit behind the defense line sporting a 2+ cover and a 5+ FNP (Locus gives the unit FNP.) The Wraithknight will also be able to grab maelstrom objectives as well as providing fire support and impressive CC abilities. Please let me know which option you think I should go with and what you think of my list overall.
Thanks,
BSWF
