Hey All,

Finally got a chance to review some of the fancy formations that the Nids got, and trying a list with some flavor.

CAD:

HQ - Winged Tyrant with 2x TL-Dev's with Brain Worms
Troop 1 - Genestealers (x5)
Troop 2 - Genestealers (x5)

Formation 1:
Wrecker Node
Warriors (x5) - 4 with Deathspitters & 1 Barbed Strangler
Carnifex - Scy Talons (x2)
Carnifex - Scy Talons (x2)
Carnifex - Scy Talons & Crushing Claws

Formation 2:
Wrecker Node
Warriors (x5) - 4 with Deathspitters & 1 Barbed Strangler
Carnifex - Scy Talons (x2)
Carnifex - Scy Talons (x2)
Carnifex - Scy Talons & Crushing Claws

The Basic CAD is strictly to have a winged Tyrant, and the 2 squads of 5 genestealers, I don't need to worry about synapse, and they can hide on back field objectives. The 2 wrecker nodes do exactly that. 6 fexes with the warriors hiding behind I think can be a lot to handle for any army. This is more of a fluffy list, as I know Winged Tyrant spam is the way to go for competitive, but just wanted to see if anyone has used this formation before, and what their thoughts were?

Thanks

Haven't used it, but I like it! The most I would go is one Node, and that would leave points for a second Tyrant...the "issue" with one Tyrant is that it makes it easy for the foe to choose what to shoot. And you give up Warlord when it dies.

You might find your self facing First Blood, and Slay the Warlord, before you even get to take a turn. That would be a fairly deep hole. That said, how can anybody not Love 6 Carnifexen, with special rules to buff them!

With a single Node I had Hormagaunts to provide a Screen, and a Veno to give Shrouding. I also put Adrenals all around. That is a big point sink though. If you get a chance let us know how it plays, because it looks like a blast.
