I've heard that Friday's at 9 (am? Pm? EST? GMT?) are a usual time for collectors edition codexes to be released, but I've never really cared until the Mechanicus ball started rolling. Now I actually think I might try to spend way too much for a codex (and I fear I may love it, too).

I know 3 are supposedly being released now, but who knows, maybe they'll be spaced out just right that I can try nabbing them all.

So does anyone know what GW has a history of doing for codex releases lately for those that have paid attention? Approximately when do you think the first Mechanicus codex will drop?

The Khorne Daemonkin codex had the following:

Unique case to hold the size of two rulebooks.
The rulebook in a unique cover.
A folio with a unique set of datacards, 15 skull tokens and six brass objective markers.

If I remember correctly, the Space Wolves codex had a $250 version with three books + minor extras, but maybe someone else knows that better.

With the first 2 boxes being released tomorrow, I expect we get the notification about the codex(s) and imagine they will be released next Friday.

I bet this is like the MT book though and is a trimmed down version of the "real" codex to be released later. If they do a collectors I only expect one variant. Probably 1-2 variants if they do a "full" codex later in the year.

I am running along side the Skitarii wagon trying to decide to jump on or not. I really don't want to buy a codex with 5 pages of rules, but the Ad Mec theme sounds pretty darn cool though.

So they do release on Fridays? Around what time do these releases happen? I hear some of the collectors editions have sold out in something along the lines of 10 minutes...or otherwise really really fast. And I just can't stretch eBay prices after the fact, so I gotta know.

In my area they release Fridays at noon. However, the collectors editions usually sell out online pretty fast(not always) and I actually think they are GW direct only, could be wrong there.

This Friday I imagine you can pre-purchase the collectors online if there is one.

Sounds good then; I wish I knew the exact history /time that they released the Harlequin codex etc. I will be staying up into 5am EST because 9am is the hour it releases in the UK... so I hope it turns out to be worth the effort heh.

Thaaat would explain the time difference; but I nabbed one within an hour of them coming around. My first collector's edition codex. WOOT! I am feeling surprisingly happy about this. Thanks guys - I might not have bothered to keep a lookout today if not for ya'll.
