I like the list a lot, only really concerned about the lictor and the venomthrope broods. A single lone venomthrope trying to make his way across the board to all your other monsters that have already deep striked or even trying to cover the gargoyles as they move up isn't going to be able to do it's job like it should (that is assuming you were putting the dimachereons into the tyrannocytes). Also while the lictors themselves are good for deviation you could also drop points there to add in more deep strike capable monsters, maybe another mawloc or the likes as in my experience single lone wolf style lictors are not worth their points.

Plan had been to use the single lictor as an objective grabber for maelstrom missions. I just really like the idea of no scatter deepstriking. But I have never played them...

Yes the Dimachaeron are meant to go into the Tyranocytes.

Oh and the venomthrope is really there just so that I can start all my flyrants in cover for the 2+ cover save.

So you're just using the flyrants as jump infantry and not as flyers?? They usually get better use out of just flying onto the board considering that you can only fly snap shots at them which is generally better than a cover save.

The venomthrope is a fun one turn thing IF you have line of sight blocking terrain, if you dont then its gonna be mostly wasted points, since the opponent will just focus him down, thats why a lot of people like to bring their own terrain with a bastion, the leviathan detachment unfortunately doesnt allow a fortification. A malanthrope is tough enough to take some heavy shooting before going down, you could consider him.

Starting the flyrants on the board is really usefull, you can start flying right away, unless you are second and then you would be able to make sure they have cover.
This allows them to shoot on the first turn, starting off the board means they wont start shooting till second turn or even later if you can't roll your reserve roll.

I do like you list, i feel the gargoyles are not needed though, possibly taking them out could give you enough for a malanghrope upgrade or maybe just more mucolids for distractions

I agree. I would think about dropping the Gargoyles and adding a way to add durability vs an Alpha Strike. I don't use Veno in a Box, that that is not because it is not good. If you add a Malanthrope, you get a durable source, and a possible mid to late game boost. The other spot I might have gone differently is the Stranglers on the Pods, but if they are glued, it is not that big of a deal.

Good luck, and good hunting!

Haven't built the pods yet. How would you do them?

I magnetized I feel a general "rule" for Tyranids is to avoid upgrades where ever possible, and spend the points on more figures, or force multipliers. So my Pods are plain vanilla. That frees up points for things like Old Adversary, Hive Commander, or Fighter Ace. It also makes it easier to upgrade to a Malanthrope, if you wish.

Trim the stranglers, drop the Gargoyles (possably) and you have a nice chunk of points to spend.
