Hey folks,

I know that the response to this will likely be pretty much the same: "Yes I would allow." and "Ask your TO."

Mainly because of storage, I only want to buy one Morkanaut. I have a magnetized Mega Dread that stores well and really I have too many orks. Too many by "a bunch." What I'd like to do is only buy one Morkanaut and use my Megadread as the second for the purposes of the dread mob. I am putting together a Dread Mob Formation for fun play (obviously not competitive since the "Great Nerfing of 2014"), but becuase I like playing walkers. Nevertheless, I will probably take them to a tourney. I discussed it with Reece (of Frontline Gaming) and he said if it had an appropriate base he'd probably allow it. I didn't get around to it for the LVO however.

What I'm thinking is this:

If I used the normal flier base which it is on, and just bought an additional (larger) imperial knight/Morkanaut base I could just magnetize it quite simply and use as either. To be clear it would be a flier base on-top-of a knight base... stacked. I should add: This isn't my picture but one I found on the net. Mine would not be on that scenic base, just 2 stock GW bases. FYI

Here is a comparison of the two:
I kind of think it's more of a trade off in my opponent's favor as the Megadread doesn't block line of sight as well as the morkanaut. Your thoughts or modeling solutions would be awesome.

Clearly they are a similar size. The hip weapons are already TLBSs. So all you need to do is add the rokkits and a chest gun. To me, the Killkannon looks more like a Mega-shoota than a KMK, but otherwise I have no problem with this.

The only issue I could concede to is the transport capacity. But you don't often see anything inside except for burna-mek squads, which is iffy, tactics-wise.

Regarding the transport I was thinking of making a hobby-chain netting that would drape from shoulders to hips and place actual transported orks in the chain netting. with ork minis inside.

Even if it isn't converted, as long as the gap between the legs counts as solid for Line of Sight Purposes.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

I'd be absolutely fine with this. I encourage, even; it completely suits the ramshackle nature of Ork machinery that two of the "same" walker look so vastly different. I'd say you don't have to convert it, either. You can just pretend that it has a "Tellyporta Emitter" or something. The chain net is a good idea, but it probably won't come out looking as good as you imagine it.

The only potential problem with it is if you took multiple Mega-Dreads and only some of them were proxies for 'Orkanauts, but that wouldn't even be a huge issue if they followed your basing scheme. I agree with JinxDragon in that the area between the legs should be considered solid for purposes of Line of Sight. With that in mind, the differences between their silhouettes are incredibly minor.

Thanks fellers.

I will see if I can make it look as good as I'm envisioning!
