Supplements, formations, codex's, new models; oh my!

I was a big fan of the Ork release, with all sorts of new models and interesting gats for my guys.

But I was really hoping for more expansive supplements and formations for the army. Considering there are many flavour of Orks, even new formations would be awesome.

Speed Freakz, Goffs, etc.

Has there been any rumours for formations?

And for the love of Mork, we need a new buggy model.

I'd even say replace the deffkopta model on the website with the AOBR one. Many of those floating around.

If the bugz can have Nidvember can Orks get Orktober?

Seriously though the ladz need some more love. I wasn't too thrilled with the current codex offerings. Although if they wanted to bring back cyboarz that would be awesome! Heck I'm surprised GW hasn't brought back Madboyz. Considering their love of random tables of late it seems like a match made in heaven

In about 8 years, probably.

Orks are still rocking 2nd Ed models iirc, such as the war buggy/trakk

Here's hoping though...

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

I'd love a new book with some smaller formations. The formations in Waaaaagh! Gazhkull are huge.

As for models, yeah, new buggies would be great. Also, Cyborks, Madboyz, and Boarboyz!

If they get a new book it will be an actual Codex not a Supplement, probably based after one of the Ork Tribes. Its starting to look like they are moving away from the Supplement route as the latest books have been listed as "Codex Adeptus Mechanicus: Skittari" and "Codex: Khorne Demonkin"

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

I've been pretty satisfied with the stuff we've got from the ghazghkull supplement and the Sanctus Reach campaign so far. Not to say I wouldn't want anymore extra goodies for the Orks, it' sjust that I'm content to wait for the time being.

I do hope that they bring Nazdreg or some of the other characters back with the new Ork-based codex though. Like an Evil Sunz/Speed Freaks book that comes with a new model release for deffkoptas and warbuggies/trakks and maybe a plastic Warboss on Bike (with an option to make it Wazzdakka!)

I want a Bad Moonz supplement/Codex.

A codex/supplement where Orks return to BS3 with Nazdregs old BS4/5 and are the best flashiest gits in the galaxy!

I have the Sanctus Reach and Ghaz's books (and even that Looted Wagon datasheet from WD), and for the most part, I'm satisfied with the formations, but I wish there were more for fast attack units (deffkoptas, buggies, and bikes).

If anything, I'm holding out hope that FW will update IA8 and the other ork datasheets (I mean the trukk konvoy formation alone should updated). .

i agree with wanting to see more, but we do have the a lot of formation variety than many other codexs. i would look forward to more models.

I'd like to see some smaller formations that don't use >500 pts like others. As is, i simply can't fit anything other than Zaggy boyz in <1500 pt games. And Zaggy boyz are worse than regular stormboyz. I'd like to have me some red skull kommandoes but...4 squads in reserves is just too much for orks that rely heavilly on board controle. I'm afraid that simple kommandoes with Snikrot are plain better than formation kommandoes just cause it's significantly fewer points off board and they can actually start on board when needed.

I sure hope so, I feel like being an early 7th ed codex, orks got fethed. Didn't get the cool mini formations in the codex.

Orks really did get fethed, by and large.

I get the feeling that whoever wrote the rules for some of the units (Kanz for example) lost hard to orks, or a grot ate their puppy, or something...

Aside from a couple of somewhat cool new things, the codex bites. I would rather have kept the 4th ed one.

Yes, I'd like to similarly yell at whoever thought Killa Kans needed to be increased in cost, kept just as weak and fragile, and also given a morale mechanic to further cripple them.

However I'll disagree with you about the codex biting. The codex is weak, that's for sure. When I put my Orks on the table, no matter what army I'm fighting, it's going to be an uphill battle. I know that and I've grown to accept it.

That being said, 6th and 7th Edition rule changes made the 4th Edition codex so painful to play that I had to shelve my Orks. They just weren't fun anymore. The new Codex definitely isn't as good as the old one was back in 4/5th Edition, but it's still an improvement. My Orks may not be very GOOD but at least I'm playing with them and having fun with them again.

The codex isn't that weak, in my experience so far. For every kick in the teeth (kans, mob rule) we got two pieces of good news (painboyz as hq, meks, mek gunz, flash gitz, tankbustaz, 'ere we go, change to Waaagh!, ...) and the codex actually has really good internal balance. It even stacks up really well against the other mid-tier codexes in my opinion (tau, marines, nids, etc). The formations in the Ghazghkull codex are what actually make orks competitive, but these days who doesn't need some sort of fancy formation to compete?

I think we can be pretty confident that a Speed Freeks release is coming at some point, though maybe not this year. I've heard a number of casual mentions (on the Frontline gaming podcast for example) that the new buggy models are done and just waiting for a release. So fingers crossed. Seriously though, I bought my buggy models during second edition, and every time I see that model still on the shelf at GW I cry a little inside.

Uh... the codex certainly doesn't SEEM weak.

Pretty much every game Ive played with new Codex has been a curbstomp. (I do mostly play vs CSM and the Crons though)

Oh whats that? You brought a C'tan shard? Lemme point my lootas at it. Lookie here! Some tac marines, let me introduce you to my Deff Dread with 4pks for 100 points! Heavy Vehicles? Pull out the Gorkanauts and bring up the mek guns!

The codex got WAYYYY better. Kans did get worse, but they're still usable. Mob rule may not be as good as it used to be for Boyz, but I can't believe people are still saying the Orks 7th ed codex is bad. +

Also I'm pretty sure the Buggies are from 3rd

A Speed Freeks supplement would be interesting to see.

While I love the old-fashioned... aesthetic of the buggy (I even have a Gorkamorka one), a new buggy kit would be awesome.
