Hey guys and welcome to my progress log decided to make this log instead of making lots of little ones for each army i paint so it is easier and quicker for me to keep them all upto date plus not cluttering up the place so no one wont be annoyed but anyway enough of that time to talk about the latest army ive started to paint which is my Necrons
ive decided to start a cron list mainly because not many people at my local gaming clubs really use them which is nice to know plus means i have a new army ready for when i wanna start to go to the Throne of Skulls tournement which are happening later on in the year. The colour scheme i have choosen to paint is slight different than normal as when i was researching colour schemes of other necron armies i noticed that there was alot of rusty ones or ones with really right armour and either red or blue bright gauss weaponary so for mine to went down the opposite route with doing mine a black armour but with a bright yellow insides and gauss weapons done a few test miniatures of the army atm as i might of bought the battleforce to start me up so here we go hope you guys all like them and feel free to give feedback

The black with the bright highlighting is certainly striking.

The lack of shading gives it a bit of a Tron look.

You typically do a two shade edging? Have you considered 3? (slippery slope I know).

Would you be willing to start with a "Paynes Grey" version of black as the primary block base? (Black with a wee bit of blue in it)
Once you go to full light-sucking-black-as-night: no shading can really be done.

Referencing the colour wheel, I do like the purple base and the most contrasting colour IS yellow so that is as striking as it gets.

I think I would have tried the secondary colours (primary being red-yellow-blue) of orange-green-purple.
Keep the base, green for the guns (I am a traditionalist) and orange as the "glow" from the Necrons, I think that would preserve what you were trying to do.

More "realistic" (if there is such a thing...) I might lean toward the base being orange with a hint of brown for that rust/clay look and the purple glow guys with green weapons to look sinister.

It IS different, very neatly painted and I do like it and would be happy to be facing that across the table.

I like the scheme! Very clean too which is nice. While I understand the contrast to the yellow for the purple base, i find them a bit distracting overall. Its a lot of real estate to just be straight purple. Just a nitpick though. If they were mine id experiment with a grey that would give contrast to the black and give it some more depth.

Regardless of my preferences though this will looks wicked on as a whole on the table. Keep it up!

I think your Necrons are the most original colour scheme that I have seen, love them. The 2 level highlighting is not an issue for me, sometimes you just want to bang models out quickly for the table top.

The Green Arrow crew looks great.
