So I have an idea for when I go to build some broadsides...but need to pick some modellers' braind for how to go about bringing my mad scheme to fruition.

I really like the idea of incorporating missile pods into the chest of the broadside....like this Robotech model does.

I am wondering....if you were trying for such a build...what would you use to accomplish it? Scratch build from plastic? Bitz of some type? Voodoo ritual?

I would try and get some Tau smart missiles bits that they have mounted on their back from the look on GW website, convert them by only have the missile heads and backplate that they stuck to and possibly if space do 2 x 6 missile racks on each side of his chest to make him look even beefyer. Convert the Broadside's chest so the missiles are not pointing down but straight (I would use green stuff to level and merge the two together in one) and with green stuff make them look like they are merged together and one piece. There will be a bit of trial and error so don't be scared in experimenting in case you haven't done this before. Sorry if this isn't 100% clear not very good at explaining, but good with coming up with these ideas.

I would have Voo Doo rituals as plan B just in case seeing as Tau have no connection to the warp you cannot pray to the gods.

Are they not too long to fit on the chest of a Broadside?

I don't know...which is why I said may ;-)

They may be a bit long..i dont know, have never had them in person :-(

Here is an even cooler idea/example of what I want to accomplish.

This is the Destroid Tomahawk....

Just use the "head" of the walker missile launcher, not the whole thing.

Or the head of a smart missile system, or a tau missile pod.

The head of the drop pod missile is nice as well.

Thrim them a bit, and maybe mound them on the chest some how, or as a shoulder.

I have a few on the way, so we will see what this mad boy comes up with

Post pictures when you start working on them, curious what you find, I'm a Robotech fan, and wouldn't mind trying this as well.

Space marine drop pods come with a missile launcher option, whose front face might be what you're looking for... Hit up some friends that have storm bolsters on their pods and see what you think.

Here's an Idea: You can pick up this model kit for pretty cheap out on E-bay. I ended up having two given to me one year when I was young.

Gundam heavyarms Custom. Has quite a few missile pod bits. I ended up taking the Lower Leg Missile Pods and mounted them to the back of my Tau XV8's It makes a rather large looking Missile pod, but looks rather cool. ((I'll get some photos of it up later))



A lot of the bits could be cut, remolded and re-used elsewhere.
