This will be the first KD list I will be running - I wanted to do a berzerker/cultist themed list with lots of bodies and minimum squads sizes to maximize the effectiveness of blood for the blood god.
There are not a lot of demons in the list, mostly because I intend to reap as many points as possible as summon them (2 squads of bloodletters, 2 demon princes, blood crushers on the side)

Aiming to get 5+ blood tithe per turn and by the end of the game have more demons than mortals. (or no mortals...)

More of a fun fluffy list that still packs a punch than a tournament list.

I mostly play against a walker heavy CSM list and a tyranid swarm/ monstous creature list.

1496 points

Blood Host Detachment

Slaughtercult

120 - Chaos Lord w Skull Helm + Axe of Khorne (in unit of zerkers) - idea here is he should be able to pack such a punch on the charge that he won't need special armor or invuln to survive.
162 - [8] Bezerkers no upgrades (behind cultists)
162 - [8] Bezerkers no upgrades (behind cultists)
235 - [10] Chaos Space marines w meltagun, meltagun, champ w combi melta, rhino w combi melta (anti tank)
150 - [5] Possessed (behind cultists)

Auxiliary - War Engine

160 - Soul Grinder w Warp Gaze (anti air / anti tank)

Combined Arms Detachment

275 - Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (strength D anti tank/anti MC)
58 - [8] cultists (objective secured/fodder for blood tithe points)
58 - [8] cultists (objective secured/fodder for blood tithe points)
58 - [8] cultists (objective secured/fodder for blood tithe points)
58 - [8] cultists (objective secured/fodder for blood tithe points)

What do you think, more bodies or a good balance? Fun list?

Not sure about the force org but I like to run 5 havoks with 4 meltsguns in a rhino. Its 150 points (+5 for dozer blade) and does about as good a job as your 235 point unit. Course not sure whether daemonkin can take havoks.

If not then kharn and a cultist squad is a good allied detachment and would help against walkers and even imperial knights (kharn can 1 shot an imperial knight).

Cultists come in squads of 10.... Not 8 unless I'm missing something about daemonkin.

Problem is regular CSM do not have blood for the blood god rule, so the cultists cant be used as fodder for blood tithe points.

What is not apparent in the list is that by turn 4 there should be at least 3 summoned units ideally a bloodletter squad, a bloodcrusher squad and a demon prince, and another demon prince turn 5 for if it goes on to turn 6.

No havoks in DK codex, the entire thing relies on building up as many blood tithe points as possible to overwhelm your opponent.

In addition to summoning a unit each turn, everything in the slaughtercult formation above will get either +1 attack or feel no pain each turn when the blood points are spent.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And yes in daemonkin codex default for cultist unit size is 7+1 champion.

Its nice that way, since more units equals more blood tithe points when they die.

His 4 squads if cultists in his CAD are from the KDK codex hence the bloodthirster of Insensate rage. So they're perfect fodder.

You sought to cower behind your walls, weakling? Instead, by the will of Khorne, you shall die behind them

Do you gain any benefits for having the Chaos space marines in the slaughtercult? I probably missed something but otherwise Id move them into the CAD to get objective secured.

Other things that might be worth doing are moving a squad of cultists into the slaughtercult to make use of the morale -> blood tithe rule. Also potentially throwing in the odd spawn or rhino the boost tithe points might be worth it (haven't played Daemonkin yet so dont actually know how this would work...)

With chaos marines in the slaughter cult, they benefit from the 4 or less result they get for free when using blood tithe. Use a cultist to make a thirster and all my slaughtercult marines get fnp. Free buffs for the valuable guys.

Good list, I like it. Consider the relic axe that turns your lord into a bloodthirster when he dies. When you expand the points value, go for the Gorepack formation; it's hot sauce.

I would recomend getting some transports. That army is going to be pounded to pieces with its only saving grace is the few Berzerkers getting BT.
