Was reading about this in one of the other forum posts and was wondering:
In the United States, does this mean I can buy 1 copy of a model, duplicate it as many times as I want, and use it for personal gaming (ie. not selling or distribution) legally?

No.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Fair Use has nothing to do with that at all.

Quoting a passage from a copyrighted source is "fair use". Posting a picture of a model you built is "fair use".
Doing a review video of a product is "fair use".
Using a piece of copyrighted material as part of a piece of art is "fair use".
