It's getting harder for me to get away from the house so my game time has transitioned from Saturday casual play at the store to inviting friends over to the house for Friday night 2vs2. That way lots of people can hang out and everyone gets a game in, even if it can get crowded on a 6x4' table.

Anyway, the game we set up had my Thousand Sons teamed up with a new Khorne Daemonkin army player (I know..) and fighting against a an Eldar Wraith army teamed with Blood Angels vehicle spam.

Everyone had 1500pts. I had (roughly):

Ahriman (Warlord)
Sorcerer- Technomancer, Power Axe
Sorcerer- Power Axe
Sorcerer- Power Axe
Sorcerer- Power Axe
8 Thousand Sons- Rhino
9 Thousand Sons- Rhino
Dreadclaw Drop Pod (Ahriman and the sorcerers went here)
Fire Raptor- Reaper Battery
Sicaran- Lascannon Sponsons

My new sorcerer unit was a lot of fun. I was really excited to add some random Blood Angels bare heads that the BA player provided me with. Ahriman rolled up Invisibility, Iron Arm and Life Leech. The Sorcerer "coven" had Incursion, Dominate, Gate of Infinity and Hammer Hand. When they dropped in I spent most of the warp charge on Invisibility, which I managed to keep up for 4/6 game turns. Hammerhand was useful, but I should NOT have let Wraithblades charge me. I just couldn't get any wounds to go through since he put Enhance up on them... I tried to use Gate to teleport out of combat, but I never threw enough dice at it because I always wanted Iron Arm and Hammer hand etc.

On many occasions, Ahriman attempted 3 Life Leech powers back to back and killed marines or Wraithguard in cover (really fun). He took 3 wounds over the match, got them all back because of Life Leech eventually, and died in turn 6 in the center of the board by the Blood Angel player's last unit: an immobilized vindicator!!!!!! I couldn't get Iron Arm up because I spent all the dice at Life Leech.

The Khorne Daemonkin book is great. He was very very pleased with how he can run a valid melee army against this shooty army of blood angels with lots of vehicles. It helped that our urban board literally looks like a Stalingrad factory complex (albeit it with pvc pipes and stuff).

The Eldar I tried to ignore for the most part, but once the Blood Angels player began to get tabled, I had no choice but to start getting rapid fires off on Wraithguard in cover. I dont have to tell you how that went.

We played a simple tournament mission that was kill points, had 5 secondary objectives such as dont have anything in your deployment by the end (2pts each) and the 3 standard bonus objectives. They won 16 to 15 and we had a lot of fun.. Just wanted to share.

Unbound Thousand Sons lists are fun.

I have played two games where I teamed up with my buddy against another person. I play Grey Knights x Eldar and he plays Grey Knights. They were both 2000 pts games, up against Space Marines at one time and Tyranids at another.

That sounds like fun, I really like fighting against the new Tyranids. I feel sort of bad when I drop three Psychic Shrieks on Carnifex broods or something.

I played a 2 v 1 game where I fielded 3,000 pts of Orks and they took 1,500 pts of Blood Angels and 1,500 of Knights of Terra.

Game ended with me tabling both armies, Mostly because they forgot that I can waaagh and have my 3 30boy blobz run and assault in the same turn..their expensive units tend to melt when assaulted by 30 boyz and a PK Nob :-P

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

Im trying to encourage Unbound. People here are afraid of Unbound cheese but they complain about battleforged eldar and tau lists that win every tournament. Unbound is an option, I wish the stores here accepted it.

I love 2v2 games -- they are my favorite.

There isn't really a problem with unbound armies, unless someone is determined to make it a problem. The real issue that I run into is that too often, the guy who wants to play unbound simply wants to abuse the rules. And, obviously, there are combinations of models that destroy the fluff
