It's been quite a while since I've posted here on Dakka Dakka. It's also been some time since I've put in any time to work on my Legion.

I actually suffered quite a serious hand injury while using my x-acto blade.

(for those who like gore)
Spoiler:

26 stitches

I somehow managed to sever the tendon in my pinky-finger and had to go to hospital for surgery to get it re-attached. Took about 6 weeks to get about 80% movement back during which I had to wear a very uncomfortable splint. luckily I now have about 95% movement
Please learn from my mistake. Cut away from any and all of your body, use fresh blades, and do not use excessive force to achieve what you are trying to do.

Now for the good news

Before I injured myself I was working on a conversion I was honestly hoping to complete before presenting it to you all. However with my hand being injured and restrained I was unable to finish it in the time-frame I wished I was able to.
And so here it is! My very own custom Legion of the Damned Venerable Dreadnought

(Please check it out in my gallery for higher res.)

I built the Multi-Melta myself and carved the bones on the other arm from the pre-existing hand.
As it is I am not ready to start painting it just yet. there is still a degree of GS'ing but after that it will be ready for the next stage in it's creation.
It's pose is also not currently set. It's joints are mostly unglued except for it's legs which are set in place.

Let me know what you think, whether you think I should try a different pose or it lacks a particular detail you think it needs.
Personally I feel like I need a couple of chains hanging off him not just wrapped around.

enjoy, Peace

Shred City.

Pissening cut on your hand. You actually mangled that thing lmao.

The models looks great, very LOTD-y. I especially like what I assume is a brazier on the top, that's going to look gorgeous if it holds a suitably sized inferno up there. The skull on the tomb is awesome as well and the GS sculpted skeleton is beautiful. Very Renaissance and Memento Mori.

Haha that's a photo after surgery, right before I got the stitches out (which I admittedly left in a little longer than I should have). They had to open up my finger to find the ends of the tendon to reattach it, hence the zigzag. Most of what you can see is just dead skin I peeled off a day later. Underneath was all smooth and shiny scar-tissue

Thanks for your compliments also. It is a brazier and will most certainly have a huge fire burning within. I'm not sure how good I am sculpting after my time off but I will give it a go soon.
Here's a close-up of the front of the sarcophagus.

I reckon I'll look for a better looking skull as the head, or just whittle away at this one till it look how I want it to...
