this is my first model of my BA army. I wanted to make my BA slightly darker than normal bright red and add some free hand iconography for each model. I also wanted to avoid making every blood drop on the armor a gem so I used some more bronze. Im not sure how many diamonds I would wear to battle...

I dont have a drill yet or I would have drilled out the bolter... Also missed a mold line... I know...

p.s. the pics are from my iphone which didn't do this guy justice as they are kind of dark.

Beautiful paintjob! That gold and red is so rich. I paint every drop as a gem on my BAs but now i think ill do a few as just gold/brass, it just makes sense.

He looks very vampiric. The red is awesome. What colors did you use if you don't mind me asking? Also the pale skin tone looks great.

Thanks! I mix a lot but the base for that red is the gw crimson color (sorry forgot the name) and the gw crimson ink and everything else is cheap apple barrel paints and gw metallic. I really dislike gw paints because they dry way to fast makes any kind of blending or wet brushing really hard...

Is that a kit bash? The legs (from the knees down) look like Sanguinary Guard, but the torso looks like something else.

The pattern on the shoulder plate is wonderful looking! Very crisp.

I personally don't like the vampire stuff so the pale skin and the two teeth are a little silly looking to me - but it's done very well!

The only thing I can think of to critique is the boltgun. There are some mold lines still visible on the magazine, and the barrel is not drilled out.

Blood Angels tactical squads have their own box now, and it's got a lot of diverse bits. Pretty excellent kit overall if you're into blood angels.

That looks stunning. Really like the use of a darker red, feel that for a chapter with their history and fluff they sometimes look a little bright and cartoony. But this looks great.

Thanks for the comments guys! This guy is from the BA tac box which is an excellent kit! After looking through the comments I remember back when the fantasy vampire counts came out forever ago and I might draw some inspiration from there. I did my best with the mold lines seem to never catch em all!! I've actually never really liked putting models together lol

Really good choice going with the darker color scheme. The only thing I probably didn't like about the BA was the bright red of their armor.

I just got back into the hobby man... No drill at the time but now there is a hole lol

Very nice, I only think the scrolls on the model could be a bit brighter, and a little bit of writing on them doesn't hurt but really isn't required.

Red looks great, really well painted. Lots of mold lines though...
