This is my son's Tyranid army, Hive Fleet Cyclone. He's been collecting for a year or so now. It's not all painted as you can see but he works hard! He's 9, & has been desperate to put a picture of his army on here for ages. He was quite lucky as he was given a Battleforce set by a friend.

The second picture is our new creation - The Scuttlefex. I asked our local GW manager to come up with some rules for him for friendly games. He's made from the mycetic spore body & some other bits with a spare Carnifex head. Quite fast (light, moves as a beast), but low armour & therefore low toughness. WS 3, BS 0, Str 5, T3, W3, 4 attacks, Feel no pain & armour bane. 70pts.

tell your son congrats, the army looks awesome, and the scuttlefex looks badass, reminds me of the bugs from starship troopers.

I'd love to see some more close up shots of each unit. so perhaps take a few of each group/type for us Assuming he paints them? is he looking for tips?

Currently id recommend getting some basing done, models go from being good to great with a good base imo. His skin technique is really nice and excellent for a 9 year old, i'd recommend some washes to go along side his armour and blade colour choices.

Also something fun he might enjoy;
Get him some Uhu glue and tamiya red clear ink.... then do this;

Its a very simple technique, its also really fun and highlights how nasty his nids are. Or another take is to use a green ink and do a slime effect
Keep up the awesome work and look forward to seeing some more.

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.
