Briefly speaking, I am in the process of fleshing out the back story of my space marine chapter (The Scions of the Twins)
an imperial fist successor chapter.

The questions I have are: are there space marine chapters that are set to defend the sector that
contains Terra, Mars, etc, in the way that the Imperial Fists originally defended Terra?

Secondly, are there any instances of Space Marines following the orders of Tech priests? Much alike
the supposed arrangement that the Minotaurs may or may not have with the High lords of Terra.

Yes. The Steel Confessors were a chapter created by the adeptus mechanicus in secret. But when it was discovered, the chapter had to retake their vows in the name of the High Lords of Terra.
